LocationKelvingrove Park, Glasgow, United Kingdom

Glaswegians should prepare themselves for unseasonable weather as 50 tonnes of snow is set to fall on Kelvingrove Park on May 24th.

Details

SNO!zone, the indoor real snowsports centre at Braehead, is turning the West End park into a winter wonderland on May 24th by building a real snow slope.

Top professional snowboarders and skiers will be performing gravity defying tricks at the event, which also includes a live DJ set, family entertainment and the chance to win lots of prizes.

SNO!zone’s street session team will cover the hill in Kelvingrove Park with 50 tonnes of fresh real snow to create the slope.

Damian Doyle at SNO!zone said: “At SNO!zone, warm weather isn’t a barrier to enjoying snowsports - we make our own snow, and on May 24th we’ll be dumping an incredible 50 tonnes in Kelvingrove to create the park’s first ever real snow slope.

“Scotland has some fantastic professional snowboarders and skiers and we wanted to let the public have a chance to see what they can do and enjoy a fun family day out.

“Entry is free so we’re urging everyone to come down to Kelvingrove Park and see where it snows this summer. “

The fun starts at 11.30am and entry to the park is completely free.
