Freestyle Coaching

Getting in to your freestyle is what this event is all about. We have the best two companies in the business of freestyle coaching in the UK with us on this event. Fully qualified freestyle coaches will get you from an absolute freestyle beginner to somebody confident in giving freestyle a go.

Definition and Maverix will be running coaching sessions all day long. Each session is for a group size of between 6 and 8 people, will be an hour long and cost just £5 for SCUK members, £10 otherwise.

You can reserve one morning session and one afternoon session by email or when you arrive on the day, but it's first-come, first-served. Payment must be in cash to the SCUK stand on site 20 minutes before the session starts else you may lose your place. There is a cash machine on site. We'll issue you with a ticket and answer any other questions you might have. You must also have a valid Snow Centre slope pass for your time on the slope.

Spare coaching places may be available, so come and find us before each session starts. Priority will be given to those that haven't been/booked on any sessions yet and to SCUK Members.

Reserving a Session

To reserve sessions, just email dunx@snowboardclub.co.uk with the subject "SCUK Bash Sessions" with your full name and the one morning and/or afternoon session you want to reserve. Please provide some alternatives as sessions will fill up, but you can only reserve one morning and one afternoon session in advance. E.g. "Hopeless Freestyler MAV-1B/MAV-3C and DEF-4E/DEF-4F". Dunx will reply when you're place is reserved.

Reservations will close 6pm Thursday. Turn up early as there's plenty of the early sessions still available.

The Sessions

Maverix will be coaching two groups of snowboarders. Definition will be coaching three groups of snowboarders or skiers. Maverix and Definition will each have a kicker and a slide box reserved exclusively for coaching.

Free snowboard setup clinic with Maverix

Between 1pm and 2pm, join Maverix for a chat and they'll see if they can tune your setup to improve your riding without even having any coaching.

The Day Park

The slope opens at 9am with sets 1, 2, 5, and 6 open. From 2pm only freestyle passes will be available and the rest of the park will open except for the Mystery Feature which will open at 6.30 for the evening session.

More on Facebook
The aim is to create a beginner friendly freestyle park that should last the whole day, so snowboarders and skiers can give freestyle a go, perhaps for the first time on a session and then put what they've learnt to practice after the session. There's freestyle available all day, even if you're not booked on a freestyle coaching session.

Remember the coaching areas are for coaching only during the day, but will open up for the jam session at 6pm.

The Jam Session

An expanded, but progressive park giving the freestyle newbie in you a chance to put new skills to the test. We'll have a heap of sponsors and lots of prizes to throw down. At a SCUK jam, we give prizes to people giving it a go and having a good time. We'll have lots of stuff to give away on the night with the help of MC Pocket.

Maverix Olly Comp

The evening jam starts early at 6pm with Maverix hosting an olly competition for anybody who's been on one of their taster sessions during the day. Prize for top lady and top gent.

Many thanks to all our sponsors in advance for this event! We'll add them as they come in, so watch this space.

We'll have a number of photographers and cameramen out on the slope during the day. If you want some shots, just let them know.
