SCUK Spring Bash
An all day lift pass with cheap coaching from Maverix and Definition, followed by an evening jam session with prizes galore.
Here at SCUK we want everybody riding more often, enjoying snowboarding and loving the benefits of SCUK Membership all year round. To us, that means a summer of freestyle in the UK. If you can already ride, but have "the fear" of those rails, boxes and jumps, then the second Spring Bash is just for you.
We'll have rails, jumps and boxes out on the slope all day, with bargain beginner freestyle coaching sessions for those that need it and progression sessions for those that have already given freestyle a go.

The Spring Bash
From 9am to 10pm on Saturday 14th May, with amazing day ticket prices from Hemel for SCUK Members only. You will be able to join SCUK on the day.
Relaxed, no-rush riding all day long. Turn up for as much as you can manage. Come and go as you want. The Edge Bar is always open for food and drink.
Booking is already open with Hemel either in person, on 0845 258 9000 or here on thesnowcentre.com. You will be asked to show your valid SCUK Membership card when you turn up, so don't forget them, else you'll be paying full whack.
Hemel's normal Friday freestyle session is being held as usual on 13th May from 6.30pm, so come along for that too.
SCUK Members can ride at Hemel for 10% off the normal price all year round, then save 55% when they join Hemel's own Membership scheme.
Getting in to your freestyle is what this event is all about. We have the best two companies in the business of freestyle coaching in the UK with us on this event. Fully qualified freestyle coaches will get you from an absolute freestyle beginner to somebody confident in giving freestyle a go.
Definition and Maverix will be running coaching sessions all day long. Each session is for a group size of 6 people, will be an hour long and cost just £5 for SCUK members, £10 otherwise.
You can reserve one morning session and one afternoon session by email or when you arrive on the day, but it's first-come, first-served. Payment must be in cash to the SCUK stand on site 20 minutes before the session starts else you may lose your place. We'll issue you with a ticket and answer any other questions you might have. You must also have a valid Snow Centre slope pass for your time on the slope.
Spare coaching places may be available, so come and find us before each session starts. Priority will be given to those that haven't been/booked on any sessions yet and to SCUK Members.
Reserving a Session
To reserve a session in advance... get up earlier, 'cos it's now closed. There are lots of places left for booking on the day, especially if you turn up for a 9am start!
Maverix will be coaching two groups of snowboarders. Definition will be coaching three groups of snowboarders or skiers, with one of the groups on the main slope for performance or flatland coaching. Maverix and Definition will each have a kicker and a slide box reserved exclusively for coaching. The two Definition ski/snowboard sessions that are open to skiers and snowboarders. There will be a coach on the session for both. All places reserved. Places available on the day.

More on FacebookThe aim is to create a beginner friendly freestyle park that should last the whole day, so snowboarders and skiers can give freestyle a go, perhaps for the first time on a session and then put what they've learnt to practice after the session. Thanks to The Snow Centre we have much more of the slope than last year, so there's freestyle available all day, even if you're not booked on a freestyle coaching session.
Here's the rough park plan for the day. There should also be another stall at the bottom of the lesson slope, but we're not sure whether that and the bibby stall will form part of the areas reserved for Maverix and Definition coaching during the day. Everything will be open for the evening jam session.
Saturday Night Jam Session
An expanded, but progressive park giving the freestyle newbie in you a chance to put new skills to the test. We'll have a heap of sponsors and lots of prizes to throw down. At a SCUK jam, we give prizes to people having a good time and we have lots of stuff to give away on the night.
Hemel customers get a good rate at the Holiday Inn up next to the M1. The price for customers of The Snow Centre is £49 B&B per room per night, including use of the facilities. To qualify just call either Marita on 01442 206254 or Munir on 01442 206252 and quote "The Snow Centre".
There's also a Hemel Premier Inn, which is apparently even cheaper, but with no specific deal for Snow Centre users.
