Clash of the Titans
Skiers, bladers and boarders battle it out down the slope to be Ruler of the Mountain!
Bearing in mind it was the UK's first ever race event where each heat featured a mix of bladers, boarders and skiers we had a fantastic turn out. We got a full house (64 entries with a reserve list too!). The course was wicked (designed - and built with assistance from the rest of the sno team - by Rob Cuss, a Snozone instructor and Sno patroller). Thanks are due to all the competitors who took part - we all thought they were very brave! The highest placed boarder was Wayne Taylor who got as far as the Semi finals where he slipped on the second turn and finished last. We had entries from both the general manager of Xscape, Milton Keynes - Trevor Seinen and the general manager of Xscape Ltd - Arnaud Palu who showed true guts and gamesmanship in taking part but unfortunately didn't make it through to the final. We had an entries from near and far - the furthest came from Scotland, and we had some from Sheffield and Dorset. Big thanks are due to all our sponsors: Neilson (first prize of a week's holiday for 2 in Les Deux Alpes, including flights), Board Stiffy (designed and produced the groovy competitor T-shirts and contributed gear for prizes), Pago Fruit Juices provided free drinks, SP, A4 Distribution and ThirtyTwo all provided loads of gear for prizes.
