 If you want your summer fix of snow, and fridges just don't cut it, we are planning on putting on a week of sunny, slushy snow riding in Les Deux Alpes with coaching, trampolining and barbeques, plus more besides.

 Had enough of the carpet burns of Snowflex and Dendex? Looking to actually get some sun this Summer? Wouldn’t mind a spot of coaching? Then you need to be setting your sights on the first SCUK Summer Camp, to be held in Les Deux Alpes, France on 21st – 28th July.
You can be a part of this for just €430 (currently just £290.00) which includes 7 nights accommodation in the SMK Riders Hotel, full board, 6 days lift pass and multiple extras.

The Plan should hopefully go something a little like this:
- Arrive at the Hotel in time for the Welcome cocktail/dinner.
- Spend the mornings up on the Glacier hitting the plethora of kickers, jibs and toys.
- Coaching will be available for those who want a bit of schooling in the fine art of freestyle.
- Sunbathing.
- Swimming in the Deux Alpes outdoor pool.
- Trampolining.
- Archery.
- Table Tennis Tournament.
- A go on the Pedalo at the Lac du Chambon.
- 6 Runs on the Summer Luge run.
- Heaps of Fun!
Booking
€430 (currently just £290.00) will get you 7 nights accommodation in the SMK Riders Hotel, full board, 6 days lift pass and multiple extras as shown in 'The Plan'.
- Head to www.smkhotel.com.
- Click on the 'Reservations' tab and on the pop-up online booking form.
- Change the language to English!
- Choose one of the weekly rider packs (either in a double, triple or quad room). Mark that 'you are coming alone and don't mind sharing your room'. This will enable us to house SCUK campers together.
- Pick the dates of the camp 21/07/2007 - 28/07/2007.
- On the subsequent details form ensure you mark yes in the “SCUK member” field.
- You will be required to pay €215 as a deposit to secure your bed.
Accommodation
We’ll be staying at the SMK Riders Hotel, a specially run hotel for summer campers, and the price will include 7 nights accommodation in either a double, triple or quad room, 3 meals a day, and your 6 day Lift Pass.
Resort
Les Deux Alpes is among Europe’s largest and busiest ski resorts, in winter and summer. But don’t expect a quaint medieval village. Though it’s one of Europe’s oldest lift-served ski destinations (second only to Chamonix, France), it’s a modern, auto-friendly resort, with some 35,000 beds and innumerable shops and restaurants.
The summer terrain spreads out on two glaciers - the Mont de Lans and the Girose - and is reputed to be the largest in Europe. There are 17 lifts operating on busy days, including a speedy underground funicular. The vertical drop, a staggering 6,000 feet in winter, shrinks to a still-respectable 2,400 feet in summer. With 500 acres to roam, summer snowboarders find Deux Alpes far roomier than most glacial areas. There is an 800 metre vertical rise between 2800 metres and 3600 metres, and over 200 hectares of skiable terrain.
 More importantly for SMK riders’ hotel, in the summer, Les Deux Alpes features one of the best and biggest freestyle snowboard fun parks in Europe! With beginner, intermediate and advanced areas, you’ll find kickers and spines of different sizes, all kinds of rails: s-rails, kink-rails, rainbow-rails, mailboxes; and of course two large half-pipes! Further more, there is a kicker with a huge air-mattress on the landing area in order to learn new tricks risk free.
As with most glacier skiing, it’s fairly tame terrain, and the snow typically starts out as rock-hard corduroy when the lifts open around 7 a.m., ending up as mush when they close at 3 p.m. Mind the angle of the sun and the exposure of the slopes, though, and you can chase freshly ripening corn snow for a couple of magical hours on most days.
Travel/Transfers
By Plane - The closest airport is Grenoble, and cheap flights are available from the UK - www.ryanair.com fly from Stansted to Grenoble, or try searching google for the best deals.
By Train - Grenoble is served by TGV. It is cheap and easy to get to from anywhere in Europe. From Grenoble it is very easy to get a bus straight up to resort.
