![]() SCUK Summer Bash
![]() Another summer, another SCUK Summer Bash.
![]() No sleeping allowedWith a huge turn out for the SCUK Winter Bash in Tignes in January, the SCUK Spring Camp at Hemel in May, it's now Tamworth SnowDome's turn to play host. ![]() This is the 8th SCUK Summer Bash, which is and always will be a Tamworth affair. It's by far the most popular of all our Bashes, due in no small part to the huge quantities of beer consumed and the big fire. Everybody loves a big fire. The Summer Bash is an excuse for a spot of camping fun and a big shred session. Everybody is welcome, whether you're a SCUK member or not, but naturally all SCUK Members are treated special. The Plan![]() Burn stuff It's loose and goes something like this:
![]() Learn new skillz BookingYou book everything separately, so you can join in as much as you want.Pre-booking adrenalin tubing and snowboarding is via Tamworth SnowDome directly on 08448 000011 - please quote "SCUK Summer Bash". SCUK Members who pre-book the snowboard session will get the session for SnowDome Members' rates. Camping![]() Bring something to sleep in. A camper/tent/gazebo/girl.Dunx will be carting along a gas BBQ, so bring carbon-based foodstuffs for traditional incineration. Naturally, drinks are also encouraged, perhaps fruit based... hops, apple or grape suggested. In an effort to save tents and the field there will be a single camp fire, with no exceptions - this is the only SCUK Bash rule we have. The fire will keep us all warm in to the early hours and act as a focus for the sacrifice of afore-mentioned foodstuffs, beverages and any tribal dancing that ensues. There are no actual camping facilities at the field, so we'll be supplying a porta-loo. We're talking basic okay – a chance to get to know the "dirty" you. Cost: This will be £10 per person for the weekend, which goes straight to the farmer. We'll collect cash only during the weekend. Alternatively, lightweights can seek comfort at the Travel Inn across the road from the SnowDome or try out the new Holiday Inn Express situated in the SnowDome car park if you can’t even be bothered to walk... but you will miss all the fun! ![]() Andy skates During the dayAndy (SCUK:passtherizla) will be leading the local skate charge some time during the day.Football. Frisbee. Throwy-things. Kites. Chat. Beer. Burgers. Tunes. Shizzle. Posing. Stuff. Politics. Religion. Putting the world to rights. Ya know. ![]() Adrenalin TubingI know snowboarders are too kool for skool, but adrenalin tubing is fun. Launch yourself down the slope on a huge tyre. Two sessions are available on Saturday night at 7.35pm and 8.10pm. Cost: £8.50 per person, pre-booking advised. There is space for 25 people per session and it's first-come, first-served. ![]() Slope fun SnowboardingNaturally, we'll be doing more than a spot of snowboarding thanks to the SnowDome, who will host a special park session on Saturday night from 10pm to 1.30am. Ramps, quarter pipe, walls, rails, boxes, pipes and snow for all levels. Once again, resident good bloke Tim Sandy is our MC for the night.Cost: SCUK members that pre-book will get the fantastic SnowDome summer member's rate, that's just £17 for adults and £12 for juniors! Otherwise, the cost is £33 adults and £22 juniors on the day. As a reminder you can pre-book by phoning the SnowDome direct on 08448 000011, quoting "SCUK Summer Bash" and don’t forget to give your SCUK membership number to the operator. ![]() Partners and SponsorsMany thanks to our partners and sponsors, who are digging deep in to their pockets for throw downs for all. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Getting ThereCampsiteThe field is just off Dunstall Lane to the east of Tamworth. Dunstall Lane is a single lane road and very narrow – we recommend entering the road from the north, so the turning at Tame Otter on the directions below – the other way is very difficult to get through! The B78 3AB postcode will get you to the right end of Dunstall Lane. The field on Google Maps. Directions from the SnowDome as follows:
Please remember we are guests of the farmer and treat his field with respect. See Rule 1 - just one camp fire! SnowDomeRoad access to Tamworth SnowDome is a doddle off the M42.Small Print...Remember the Tamworth Snowdome has a minimum recreational standard - this basically means you can link turns, control your speed and you're not a danger to others. It doesn't matter whether you own the SnowDome or not, you will be asked to leave the slope on Saturday night if you are so drunk you are seen to be a danger to others. The SCUK Summer Bash event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office). Page views: 2429 |
