![]() SCUK Summer Bash
![]() Now in its 7th year. Camping and snowboarding all in one weekend. Get in!
Following on from a most excellent Winter Bash 2008 and a huge SCUK turn out at the Brits 2008, the SCUK Summer Bash 2008 will be going out hell-for-leather in its 7th year with two-fingers stuck waaaay up to the British weather that tried to sink the campfires of 2007.![]() Everybody is invited along, whether you're a SCUK member or not. Come and join us for as much fun as you can handle. Why not bring your GF/BF or perhaps pick one up whilst you're there? The PlanIt's loose and goes something like this:
BookingYou book everything separately, so you can join in as much as you want. Pre-booking adrenalin tubing and snowboarding is via Tamworth SnowDome directly on 08705 000011 - please quote "Summer Bash". SCUK Members must pre-book to get the special discounts. For SCUK MembersSCUK Members are naturally special, so when you do book for the snowboarding at Tamworth SnowDome in advance, you should provide your SCUK membership number to the SnowDome, as one lucky SCUK member is going to get a week at Dragon Lodge! Of course it's never too late to JOIN SCUK as you'll save £13 on booking your slope time anyway and be in with a great chance of a free holiday! ![]()
![]() CampingWe have a new field this year, which is apparently very good and extremely close to the SnowDome. Dunx will be carting a gas BBQ along, so bring carbon-based foodstuffs for traditional incineration. Naturally, drinks are also encouraged, perhaps fruit based... hops or apple suggested. In an effort to save tents, the field and to stop locals dancing nekid around the field, no bonfires allowed, but we will be bringing one of those brazier things and a supply of flammable stuff to keep us all warm and act as a focus for the sacrifice of afore-mentioned foodstuffs, beverages and any tribal dancing that may ensue. There are no actual camping facilities at the field, so we'll be supplying a porta-loo. We're talking basic okay – a chance to get to know the "dirty" you. Girls, maybe leave the straighteners at home.Cost: We think it will be around £10 per person for the weekend, but we'll let you know when the venue is confirmed. We'll collect cash only over the weekend. Alternatively, lightweights can seek comfort at the Travel Inn across the road from the SnowDome, but you will be jeered, sneered and leered at by the hardcore campers who are having heaps more fun! SkatingAndy (SCUK:passtherizla) has suggested a spot of skating at a skatepark in the village of Curdworth, which is about 15 minutes from Tamworth (just off junction 9 of the M42, close to the Belfry). If you're up for that, Andy will be leading the charge some time on Saturday. You can discuss the skating on the SCUK Bash Forum. ![]() Adrenalin TubingI know snowboarders are too kool for skool, but adrenalin tubing is fun. Launch yourself down the slope on a huge tyre. Two sessions available on Saturday night between 7.45 to 8.15pm and 8.15 to 8.45pm. Cost: £5 pre booked SCUK members or £8 otherwise. There is space for 25 people per session and it's first-come, first-served. ![]() SnowboardingOoops, we almost forget snowboarding. Naturally, we'll be doing a spot of that thanks to the SnowDome, who will host a special session on Saturday night from 10pm to 1.30am. Ramps, quarter pipe, rails, boxes and snow. DJ and late bar till 1.00am. We'll be hosting impromptu comps like the longest ollie and highest air out of the quarter pipe.Cost: SCUK members that pre-book will get SnowDome member's rates - so £15 for adults. Everybody else rides at normal rates - so £28 for adults. ![]() Partners and SponsorsMany thanks to all our partners and sponsors, who are digging deep in to their end of season pockets for some throw down prizes for the night's snowboarding. We'll be adding to the list as they announce themselves. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Getting ThereCampsiteAs is traditional, we've had to change the field at the last minute. The nearest postcode is B78 3AA. Google Map.Here's the written directions. From A5 Tamworth exit:We will of course put SCUK signs wherever possible to guide you also. SnowDomeRoad access to Tamworth SnowDome is a doddle off the M42.If you're after a lift, check out the No Mates Forum. People are coming from all over the country and we'll be extending the invite to the wider UK snowboard audience through the other forums, Facebook and our partners. Small Print...Remember the Tamworth Snowdome has a minimum recreational standard - this basically means you can link turns, control your speed and you're not a danger to others. The SCUK Summer Bash event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office). Page views: 4884 |
