It just gets bigger and bigger! This is all about participation and everybody is invited along to join in for as much fun as they can handle. We really do want to see you there.

Weather forecast from BBC

You can read all about the Summer Bashes from 2003 and 2002 just to see what it was all about.

The Plan

The full weekend will go something like this:
  • Get to the campsite Friday evening for the start of the drinking.

  • Paintballing on Saturday at 9.30am to 1pm.

  • All day music, BBQ, beers and games at the campsite.

  • Adrenalin Tubing 7.45 to 8.45pm at the SnowDome.

  • Boarding 9.30pm to 1.30am at the SnowDome.

  • Late bar to 1.00am.

  • Back to the campsite.

  • Sunday morning. Rise with bruises and hangovers.

  • Sunday, the brave few will check out Epic skatepark in Moseley, Birmingham.

Booking

You book and pay for everything separately, so you can join in as much as you want or just come along and watch. Why not bring the kids or hire some for the day?

You book for everything via the Tamworth Snowdome - paintballing, adrenalin tubing and snowboarding. You must pre-book to get the special discounts on the adrenalin tubing and snowboarding. We'd also like people to pre-book the paintballing by Wednesday 14th July to ensure we get an exclusive session. You can therefore book the whole lot by phoning the Tamworth SnowDome directly on 08705 000011 and quoting "Summer Bash".

Camping

We have organised with a local farmer to have exclusive use of his camping field on the Friday and Saturday nights. The campsite has toilet facilities, so that's useful.

We'll be based here for most of Saturday, so just come to campsite when you arrive unless you plan on meeting up at the SnowDome in the evening. We'll have a BBQ going, so bring some food and drink.

Cost: £10 per tent on the weekend.

Alternatively, lightweights can seek comfort at the Travel Inn across the road from the SnowDome, but you really will miss out on a whole heap of fun.

Paintball

Paintballing

is booked for a Saturday morning session at National Paintball Farms. The half day package starts at 9.30am and ends at 1pm and includes 4 games, equipment (including a tasty looking automatic gun), a possibly slightly less tasty burger and 300 paintballs.

Cost: £30 - Booking through the SnowDome is now closed. If you want to take your chances on the day, we'd love you to, so contact NPF directly.

Adrenalin Tubing

Adrenalin Tubing

A little bit silly, but a great laugh before they set the slope up for the boarding. Launch yourself down the slope at the Snowdome on a huge tyre. There are two sessions available: Saturday night 7.45 to 8.15pm and 8.15 to 8.45pm.

Cost: £5 pre booked or £8 on the day.
There is space for 25 people per session and it's first-come, first-served.

Boarding

Naturally, we'll be snowboarding and thanks to the SnowDome, this is a specially extended and discounted Fresh session on Saturday night from 9.30pm to 1.30am. Ramps, quarter pipe, rails and snow. DJ and late bar 'til 1.00am.

Cost: £20 if pre-booked for non-members, £28 on the day or £15 for members.

Your MC for the evening will be ProDog.

Skateboarding

Epic Skatepark in Moseley, Birmingham, boasts a serious park. Although not really part of the Summer Bash, feel free to check that out on Sunday.

Cost: The prices are cheap by comparison to anything else we'll be doing this weekend. £5 for a three hour session or £8 for a day pass. You cannot pre-book this and can simply turn up and pay on the day.

Entertainment

Saturday at the campsite will include an all day BBQ. Bring baps, burgers and beer.

We have DJ Shiny for the weekend who is more than likely to be joined by ProDog, eightseventhree and a few others. Get in contact with Shiny if you have some vinyl you want to spin. Shiny and ProDog will also be playing at the Snowdome for the evening. We also have an extended bar to 1 a.m.

Getting There

Here's the map for the campsite. The campsite is at the end of that grey track and signposted "Charity Farm". We don't have a full postal address. Zoom out of that map to get your bearings. There's also an aerial shot. There's an even better map here and here are some details direction (cheers Shiny):
  • From the M42 - Take the A5 towards Nuneaton.
  • At the 2nd Roundabout go right - signposted Baddesley Ensor (Boot Hill) - B4116
  • At the crossroads go right - signposted Baxterley. The trees partially obscure the sign so take it steady.
  • You'll be at a give way almost immediately - go right again onto Main Road.
  • NOTE - The campsite is exactly 1 mile from this point - watch your trip meter.
  • Follow this through the 30 limit QUIET PLEASE - respect the villagers.
  • It will then open up and there's a white fence either side of the road. A left turn will appear shown as a dead end. There's a handpainted sign for Charity Farm on the corner.

There should also be signs and stuff around the place directing you as you go (cheers Rabbitboy and Lesley).

Paintball is about 5 miles from Tamworth and about 10 miles from the campsite. Here's a local map or see Trickley Coppice in this map to get your bearings.

Road access to Tamworth SnowDome is a doddle off the M42. Zoom in on this map to see the SnowDome as the "Leisure Centre". You can also see the train station on the map.

Epic Skatepark is in Moseley, about 20 miles from Tamworth. See directions.

If you're after a lift, check out the Forum. People are coming from all over the country, from Aberdeen to Southampton, so you never know.

Winnables

This is just a social thing, but to up the ante, the following kind supporters have provided some throw down prizes for the evenings. A big thanks to them.

Finally...

The Forum Summer Bash is an event brought to you by TheBoarder, the Tamworth Snowdome and the letter "B" for big guns, boarding, beats, beer, BBQ, bivouac and bruises. This is a social thing, rather than a competitive thing and everybody is welcome, even if you can't make it for the lake or camping.

We laugh in the face of rain 'cos we is gonna get wet anyway.

Small print: Remember the Tamworth Snowdome has a minimum recreational standard - this basically means you can link turns, control your speed and you're not a danger to others.

The TheBoarder Forum Summer Bash event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
