Refrigerator
A skier's freestyle event.
The Nike and Ellis-Brigham sponsored Refrigerator at Milton Keynes this weekend was a great success. The actual comp was a slopestyle with five rails including a kink rail and a 30 footer. There were three kickers one of which was of a good size. The comp attracted around 50 skiers including some of Britain’s best. The standard was really high and this was shown from the beginning when first to go on the day, “Spy” rider Ton Lynch stuck a tweaked out Lincoln. The format of the comp was that the original 50 had two runs before it was cut to 16 and then to 5. The final five was “Salmon” skier Andy Topping, “Natives” and “John Nike leisure sport” skier Nick Southwell. Mark Watson and “Line” skiers Andy Bennett and Paddy Graham. All skiers went for it on the table, Nick Southwell stomping a switch backflip, Andy Bennett a switch Rodeo and Andy Topping a misty 5. But on the day there was only one winner in Paddy Graham who stuck a D-Spin 7. The comp was brilliant run and organised by Chris Fecher and Jim Adlington who also created a great vibe with his commentary.
