RAF Charity Snowboard
RAF Charity snowboard in aid of the Special Baby Care Unit, at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford
The event was a complete success! A big thanks to Chris Sharp who organised the event as we raised close to 1000 quid for charity and dominated the slopes from start to finish. Twenty riders turned up for the day and eleven of us made it to the end of the sesion. Every one was sore and bruised but no major injuries, just a great deal of fatigue. We were given the go ahead to set up our home made rail and to be honest, the staff at the slope were extremely impressed with the build quality and time and effort that had gone in to it. So we set up the rail and then decided we'd build our own little kicker as the big one was closed. We had riders who turned up that had had lessons first thing in the morning and by the end of the day they were hitting the rail, so all in all a top days riding. Big thanks to SS20 and Stinkyfish.co.uk for there donations to the event. Most importantly it's for charity and it gets us away from the sandy climates for a little while.
