Nokia Natural Born Riders - Rd4
Ski & Snowboard competition
Before the tour got to Castlefield there was one more stop to make! This was at Sheffield Ski Village and the amazing tight scene they have going on up there! The NBR tour rocked up on Friday afternoon and got set up while watching the locals all ripping in practice before the comp got underway. Once the branding and dj were all set up Jonno Verity got on the mic and the contest got underway. As usual it was a jam with the top six in each category going through to a 2 run slopestyle final! However before that was the Oakley Big Air on the first hit of the Sheff’ halfpipe. It was nuts! People were killing themselves with the standout in snowboard being Mark Hartley, who was going for a crippler! He just about made one and took home the Wisdoms (although we've also had reports that Kieran Guite won the Wisdoms... so who knows)! The ski big air was also close but local lad, not to mentioned newly sponsored and exciting freestyler, Will Burrows walked away with the Oakleys. Then it was final time! The standard here was arguably the best all tour so the judges, as always, had a tough time. In ski, the Animal Ice Maidens girls winner was Becky Hammond, Magic under 18’s went to Will Burrows and the Neilsons mens went to Joe Blackwell. In snowboard the Animal Ice Maidens girls comp went to Lydia Aincroft, Magic under 18’s was Pete Helliwell and Neilson mens went to Mark Hartley in a very tight call with Matt Gibson.
