 Natural Born Riders - Rd3
Snowboard only competition. The event is also the Document Snowboard Magazine Christmas Party.
The Natural Born Riders Tour is all about freestyle and freedom of expression. The NBR Tour has been developed to encourage existing snowboarders into the world of jumping kickers, riding rails and the upside down world of inverted flips! OK, maybe that last option is only available for a select few! The original indoor snow centre in the UK, the Tamworth Snow Dome, plays host for the second snowboard leg of the NBR Tour, for all 4 of the Snowboard Competitions on Saturday 11th December, 2004. The event runs from 10.00pm to 1.30am and everyone on the slopes will be involved in a jam format throughout the night with 3 people from each age category below, selected to go through to the Grand Final next year on March 5th, 2005:
The NBR Tour visits the Saturday Snowboard Ramp Night at Tamworth when the conventional, tranquil, perfectly groomed slopes are turned into a sea of jumps, rails, fun boxes, ¼ pipe and kickers to create the equivalent of freestyle heaven for specialists to hone their techniques to a background of kicking tunes spun by top local DJ’s before making best of the late night bar. Join us for the entire evening for a bargain price of £28 for 3 hours riding, with further reductions for children and members. There are some amazing prizes to be won throughout the Tour, none less so than the four snowboards up for grabs from Sapient Snowboards. New to the UK but boasting a strong team in Europe, the lucky winners of the four-snowboard comps will be styling on the slopes around Europe on these wonders of technical hardware. If actual hard goods were not required at the moment, then maybe you would be more interested in the 2 fantastic Neilson Active Holiday’s on offer. Unfortunately, you have to be male and over 18 to be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize but if you are, you could be taking a friend on a world-class holiday to a top European snow destination. The competitions and prizes are not the only reason to attend the NBR Tour though. Clinics and demos are to be given by Animal and Oakley pros to teach people about the art form of freestyle snowboarding. For the Tamworth leg, we have Johno Verity from Animal and Tyler Chorlton or Scott McMorris representing Oakley. These clinics and demos will take place on the nursery slope as part of the Beginner Board Night between 10.30pm – 12.00am staged regularly at Tamworth, designed to build up confidence for everyone new to freestyle on small jumps and rails. These newly acquired skills can then betaken to the main slope where people can attempt larger scale objects and enjoy riding with the pros present. Combine the above prizes mentioned with the demos and trick tips from top professionals with further on the night prizes from Oakley eyewear and Animal technical snow clothing and there can’t be a better reason to sign up and get involved with the most happening and underground snow Tour in the UK. All of the teams are on the look out for new talent for their respective teams so this is THE tour for anyone looking to ‘carve’ out a career!
