This is the first Natural Born Riders event for snowboarders in the series.

2004-05 Natural Born Riders (NBR) Tour: Leg 2 at Xscape, Milton Keynes, Big Names Confirmed!!!

The Natural Born Riders Tour is all about the 3 F’s – Freestyle, Freedom of expression and Fun learning new moves! The NBR Tour has been developed to encourage existing skiers and snowboarders into the world of jumps, hitting kickers, riding rails and the upside down world of inverted flips! OK, maybe that last option is only available for a select few!

The mighty state-of-the-art Xscape Leisure Complex at Milton Keynes plays host for the second leg of the NBR Tour, for all 4 of the Snowboard and Freestyle Ski Competitions on Friday 3rd December 2004. The event runs from 7.00pm to 12.00am and is primarily split into 2 parts of the day for Under 18’s and Over 18’s. There are 3 ski and 3 snowboard competitions based around these age divisions:

· Neilson Active Holiday’s Men’s Over 18’s
· Magic the Gathering Boys Under 18’s
· Animal Ice Maiden Girl’s Comp

Entry into the competitions is free and automatic when you register online and pay your slope fee to the venue, which is £35 for the Night from 19.00-24.00.

The NBR Tour joins forces with the legendary Xscapeology night now firmly into it’s second year of being established and still drawing the crowds in at a rate of knots! The conventional, tranquil, groomed slopes are turned into a sea of jumps, rails, table tops and kickers to create the equivalent of freestyle heaven for specialists to hone their techniques to a background of kicking tunes spun by top local DJ’s and live acts.

This Xmas Special is no exception as the A-Star events group presents a Phunkypheelin Promotion featuring True Element as their main attraction and live band, to be ably assisted by a glittering DJ line-up of Pings (Best Friends), Ski (Do it Fluid), Keith Garret (Footwerk), Seven (PhPh-Resident) and MK City Breakerz V’s Allied Forces (Northhamton). The entrance to the bar is free and with drink promotions all night including 3 bottles of WKD and Coors priced at £6 as well as the lovely Jagermeister girls ‘fuelling the party’ with cheap shots to make it criminal to miss out on this night of debauchery and fun!

There are some amazing prizes to be won on the slopes, none less so than the four sets of Armada skis to be won. Armada enter the UK for the first time this year on the back of having the strongest international freestyle ski team in the world and having taken America by storm. There are only a 100 pairs on sale in the UK in total this year at exclusive Ellis Brigham stores and a lucky few other specialist retailers, making them the most sought after twin tips of the moment.

Not to be outdone, there are also 4 snowboards up for grabs from Sapient Snowboards. New to the UK but boasting a strong team in Europe, the lucky winners of the four-snowboard comps will be styling on the slopes around Europe on these wonders of technical hardware. If actual hard goods were not required at the moment, then maybe you would be more interested in the 2 fantastic Neilson Active Holiday’s on offer. Unfortunately, you have to be male and over 18 to be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize but if you are, you could be taking a friend on a world-class holiday to a top European snow destination.

Combine all of this with the amazing amount of prizes to be won throughout the Tour of fantastic Animal clothing, Oakley eyewear and tonnes of goodies from Magic The Gathering and there can’t be a better reason to sign up and get involved with the most happening and underground snow Tour in the UK. All of the teams are on the look out for new talent for their respective teams so this is THE tour for anyone looking to ‘carve’ a career in the snow industry!

The competitions and prizes are not the only reason to attend the NBR Tour though. Clinics and demos are to be given by Animal and Oakley snowboard pros to teach people about the art form of freestyle snowboarding. For the Milton Keynes leg, we will have Johno Verity from Animal and Scott McMorris and Sam Cullum representing Oakley. For the Freestyle Ski fans, you can’t ask for a better choice of personal teachers in the form of the legendary Julien Regnier and JP Auclair from the international Armada team. These clinics and demos will take place on the nursery slopes designed to build up confidence for everyone new to freestyle on small jumps and rails. These newly acquired skills can then be taken to the main course where people can attempt larger scale objects and enjoy riding with the pros present.

There will be limited spaces available for the Tour so we will have to work on a first come, first served basis. Go to www.naturalbornriders.co.uk to sign up from October 30th, 2004.
