The Burton High5 Tour will be hitting up the UK’s indoor snow slopes and bringing with it 5 brand new obstacles for the locals to get creative with.
This year Burton Snowboards are upping the ante with a new competition that’s going to be travelling the country this coming autumn. The Burton High5 Tour will be hitting up the UK’s indoor snow slopes and bringing with it 5 brand new obstacles for the locals to get creative with. The comp is an open jam slopestyle with a practice, qualifiers and a “two run, best run counts” final. The increase in younger riders attending British events has meant that categories are now going to be split into kids boys/girls, youth boys/girls and senior men's/women's with a ton of prizes and swag will be up for grabs for the top three winners in each. This year the battle won’t just be out on the slope but behind the scenes, as the countries top shapers will be going head to head to build the best park with the given obstacles. They will be in with the chance to win the coveted Golden Shovel Award along with a limited edition package from Burton Snowboards for the winning 5 shapers and the title of “Best Park In Britain”. This will be a rider judged element to the contest and all competitors (at the end of the night) will then give their marks out of 5 for the following criteria: Fun • Creativity • Experience • Value • Stoke This format has been designed to be as inclusive as possible so get down to your local slope and start pushing the shaping teams for what you’d like to see on the night. The new rails have already been built and are guaranteed not to disappoint. They are adaptable to a number of different possible variations and are completely unique like nothing else in the UK at this moment in time. Pictures will be released in the next few weeks and slopes will also have to create a ‘one off’ feature (of their choice) at each leg of the tour. Every slope in the UK is keen to get their hands on the title of “Best Park In Britain” and the dates are as follows: SEPTEMBER 25TH, TAMWORTH SNOWDOME OCTOBER 2ND, SNO!ZONE SCOTLAND OCTOBER 8TH, THE SNOW CENTRE, HEMEL HEMPSTEAD OCTOBER 16TH, SNO!ZONE CASTLEFORD NOVEMBER 5TH, CHILL FACTORE MANCHESTER NOVEMBER 13TH, SNO!ZONE MILTON KEYNES So if you're looking for a new concept of snowboard comp that’s open to all ages and abilities make sure you get yourself along to one of the dates above. The emphasis on the evening events will be all about fun and will have something for everyone. In the meantime stay tuned for regular updates on all things High5.
