After the huge success of 2010's event, the Oakley Grom Games is back bigger and better than ever! Once again, skiers and snowboarders will get the chance to battle it out for some of the biggest prizes ever to be given away at a UK snowsports event.

Details

The Oakley Grom Games will be held at the Chill Factore, where we will have a special freestyle arena. There will be 2 separate jam sessions, 1 for skiers and 1 for snowboarders, and we will have some of the most respected pro's on hand judging all the talent. There are 4 different age category's; 12 and under, 13-17, 18-24 & 25 and over, and all standards of freestylers are welcome. There will be prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd in each age category. Also, the judges will be looking for the best performing riders of the day who will be invited back for the invitational evening knockout showdown!

The Invitational Knockout

Last year saw some of the biggest names in skiing and snowboarding competing in the Grom Games invitational including Jamie Nichols, Col Mytton, James Woodsy Woods, Katie Summerhayes, and Murray Buchan. We have made a few little changes to the invitational this year. For starters, there will be more places up for grabs on the day. And the format of the comp for the invited riders will be a jam session allowing them to showcase their best tricks to the judges and the crowds. The judges will then pick 4 skiers and 4 snowboarders to battle it out against each other to see who will be crowned the champion!

Prizes

Last year there was a 50" plasma TV, lap top computer and loads of product prizes from our sponsors. This year we also have some incredible prizes from our sponsors; Oakley, Salomon Freeski, Salomon Snowboards, Skullcandy, Giro, Snow & Rock, Subvert, Baw Bags, Planks clothing and Freeze Pro shop. We also have cold hard cash prizes for the invitational event.

Red Bull After Party

Red bull are once again arranging the after party in Chillies bar so be sure to bring your dancing shoes and maybe book a hotel if you fancy a few bevies!

Booking A Place

Last year the Oakley Grom Games was sold out a week before the event leaving a lot of disappointed people not getting in. So this year we strongly recommend you book well in advance by visiting Chill Factore or call 0161 749 2222 if you have any problems.

The Oakley Grom Games event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
