Season’s second Parallel Slalom / World Cup debut of Nendaz Welcome on tour Nendaz: Only two days later then the two Halfpipe contests at Leysin, also Nendaz celebrates its first hosting of a competition in the context of the NOKIA Snowboard FIS World Cup 2005/2006. On January 22nd, the season’s second Parallel Slalom takes place in Switzerland. For the athletes the last chance to test their form prior the Olympics under contest conditions and on highest level. No wonder that almost all race boarders who were dominating the last winters and this season have applied to start. With Daniela Meuli (SUI), who already won three Parallel Giant Slaloms this seasons and Heidi Neururer and Doresia Krings (both AUT) all medal winners of the 2005 World Championships in this discipline will race down the course. They will have to face Julie Pomagalski and Isabelle Blanc. Both French riders were celebrating a double victory for their home country in the only Parallel Slalom so far at Landgraaf. On the men’s side, Silver and Bronze medallists from Whistler Nicolas Huet (FRA) and Siegfried Grabner (AUT) will start. Grabner also won the Indoor event of Landgraaf three months ago. There, the podium was rounded out by Simon Schoch (SUI) and Adam Smith (USA). Besides Mathieu Bozzetto (FRA) more Swiss riders are among the title aspirants. Current Olympic Champion Philipp Schoch will try to rank ahead of his team mates Heinz Inniger, Marc Iselin, Gilles Jaquet and Urs Eiselin.
