Farmers Jam
Board and Ski freestyle jam session and competition. DJ, Bar B Q, Test equipment.
![]() Spectacular scenes were witnessed last year and the competitors are hoping to go bigger and better this year as they compete for big air, rail jam and slope style honours. The event attracts local and national talent in the disciplines of boarding and skiing, and will start at noon on the Saturday, after a warm-up session on the slope, at Whitlingham Lane, Trowse. The first competition is big air, with competitors going off the ramps and kicker. This will be followed by the rail jam which will go on through until early evening. After a wake up breakfast from the barbecue crew, Sunday morning will see a warm up to the slope style discipline, with spot prizes keeping the competition hot throughout the day. For those not competing there is plenty to do. Wannabe snowboarders (aged 10 or over) can try a taster session for £1 between 11am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Also, instructors from Morzine, France are billed to run freestyle clinics to hone those up-and-coming skills, while sponsors will be bringing along ski and board equipment for riders to try out. The barbecue and a bar will be running throughout the weekend, with pizzas available on Saturday night. The graffiti festival will be running alongside the jam with some talented artists spending the weekend at the club - producing a large display on a freestyle sports theme. Music comes from DJ Tony during the day with DJ Growler mellowing out in the bar on Saturday night. The event is free to spectators. Entry for competitors is £25 for the weekend (£20 if pre-registered). Those who just want to ride can use the slope for £10 per day.
