The annual "who's the best" between skiers and snowboarders.

Back for the 4th consecutive year, Who’s The Daddy returned to the SnowDome on Saturday 1st November for a night of humungous prizes, absolute mayhem, and fearsome rivalry as skiers and snowboarders battled it out to be the ultimate champion, The Daddy 2008.

The competition kicked off with a ‘Double Up’ bonding session as skiers and snowboarders had to combine together for a run hitting as many obstacles as possible. Some gallant attempts by all involved. The winners were Alex Wayne and Liam Beardsmore who walked away with the Sined board and K2 skis.

The night then moved on to the QP qualifying session which separated the men from the boys… all of the qualifiers were hitting mighty heights never before achieved at the SnowDome.

QP Finalists included:
Dale Taylor (defending champion WTD 2007)
Steve Owen
Ben Izzard
Alex Wood
Ross Needham
Lee Radford
Sean Miller
Chris Benner
Josh Rooke
Charlie Smith

The 2nd half of the night saw the finalists battle it out over two runs each where only landed jumps counted. It eventually came down to a head to head between snowboarder Steve Owen and skier Chris Benner – both of whom achieved a whopping 19.5ft.

Steve slammed on his final hit as Chris managed the biggest air of the night (a clear 21ft) to walk away with the Who’s The Daddy 2008 title and prize stash including a pair of K2 skis and The Daddy Pass… with Steve O a super close 2nd place.

Rob Lawton took home the Junior prize on his snowboard by mixing it up with the big boys and getting over half way up the tombstone. Best Female prize went to skier Sissy Herant.

The evening’s battle came to a finish as skiers and boarders competed on the Giant Gas Pipe to see who could throw down the techiest trick. Josh Rooke won for the skiers after a crazy one footed grind down the pipe with Dan Oughton on his board a close second.

A massive thank you to all the riders for their heroic attempts… the feisty spectators who battled the cold and were loud on the balcony… the fantastic Tim Sandy for his ever impressive MC skills… to SMILEYMIC and his break dancer friends for their superbly received half-time entertainment and all of the sponsors for donations of awesome prizes: Westbeach, Sined, Ripcurl, Ryan Air, Reef, K2 & Ride, Ellis Brigham & TSA, Salomon, SCUK, Vans, Maharishi, Burton & Head.

Check out photos and video from this years Who’s The Daddy event. Big thank you to Neil Eaton for the photo’s and our friends at shredtv.co.uk for the movie…. enjoy!
