![]() Burton Jib Fest
A combination of rails, kickers, bbq, bar action and Ed Leigh presenting will start this season with a bang!
Well, I couldn't make it (don't ask), but seems like there was some great riding. There's some words and pictures here on the UK Snowboard Forum. Here's the official review: Saturday 6th september, Burton Snowboards and Tamworth Snowdome kicked the season off in full force with the Burton Rail Jam. Most of the 180 riders had pre booked for the event, with the dome reaching full capacity by opening time. The upstairs bar and balcony were also jammed full of spectators, keen to see what tricks were going to be pulled throughout the night on the combination of rails, kickers and boxes. The new Burton Kink Rail upped the ante and set the stage for some impressive tricks, with the likes of Laura Berry and Burton’s James Thorne showing what could be done. Tim Warwood kept the crowd going throughout the night and made sure that almost everyone went away with something, with Burton and Gravis throwouts and Snowdome passes up for grabs for the best tricks and slams, as well as a Dragon Lodge holiday for 2 to Tignes. By the end of the night, the top 5 unsponsored riders were selected, and battled it out for the coveted prizes of no less than a day go kart racing against the likes of Burton Global team riders Jussi Oksanen, Ross Powers, Trevor Andrew etc., a Burton 7 Snowboard and a Burton goodie bag. First prize went to Jonny K, 2nd to Chris Chatt and Charlie Clarke took 3rd place. Big thanks to Gary at the Snowdome, Tim Warwood, the Burton crew and everyone who made it happen. The Burton Jib Fest event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office). Page views: 27579 |
