Burton Demo and Comp
In conjunction with the Burton Demo Tour, Tallington will be holding a snowboarding competition.
[From James Murray] The Tallington Open weekend went ahead last weekend running smoothly according to Mike @ Wentworth Action Sports. All the big boys came along for the snowboard evening from Burton Snowboards, K2 and Palmer - all providing demo boards. The main idea of the evening was to help raise money for Anthony Nolan Trust for Leukaemia. The evening kicked of with a demo session from 6 till 9. This was followed by the Charity Snowboard comp started. This was hotly contested between local rider Dave Moseley, local instructor Dan Newman and Burton Demo worker James Murray. The judging was left in the capable hands the Dark Destroyer himself, Pat Meurier from K2 snowboards. Each rider had 3 runs to prove their skillz and it was down to judge. Dave Moseley threw down some massively high bs360 tails grabs and James Murray dropped in some switch fs180 and bs180, but Dave Moseley just couldn't get the landing clean leaving James Murray to take the first place, Dave Moseley second and Dan Newman third. After the comp a charity raffle kicked off seeing how much people were going to bid for, from holidays to DVD players and sunglasses. After a busy evening of events a massive £1500.00 was raised for The Anthony Nolan Trust for Leukaemia. So thanks to everyone who turned up and see you all next year.
