2008 British Snow Tour Championships and Schools Programme

After a great British Championships in Laax, Switzerland the British Snow Tour is back on UK soil and looking forward to kicking off its first event, the Quiksilver Big Air Championships in Halifax next weekend 5th & 6th July 2008.

With a massive local scene and arguably the best Snowflex kickers in the UK, Halifax looks set to be an epic first event and new addition to this year’s Tour. The Schools Tour Team, along with local rippers, Jamie Nicholls, James Box and Wayne Taylor will also be visiting two local secondary schools before the event to spread the word and encourage more kids to get involved by dishing out 200 FREE beginner lessons.

The Quiksilver Rail Jam will get the day’s competition off the ground followed by the highly anticipated Quiksilver Big Air Championships where the UK’s best will throw down the most insane tricks over the 10m kicker with the hopes of winning the coveted title. The Quiksilver lesson academies will offer 200 beginners the chance to take their first turns for FREE during the event, whilst our demo sponsors K2, Ride, DC Snowboards and LINE and K2 ski’s will be laying on their full range of hardware kit to test drive.

Quiksilver British Artificial Big Air Championships Schedule:
Saturday 5th July, Halifax Snowsport Centre

  • 9am-4pm: Quiksilver Big Air Championships plus Rail Jam (snowboard)
  • 11am-4pm: FREE Snowboard Lessons with the Quiksilver Snowboard Academy
  • 5pm-8pm: FREE Demo testing, courtesy of K2, Ride, ‘brand new’ DC snowboards and LINE and K2 skis

Sunday 6th July, Halifax Snowsport Centre
  • 9am-4pm: Quiksilver Big Air Championships plus Rail Jam (freeski)
  • 11am-4pm: FREE Ski Lessons with the Quiksilver Ski Academy

The competition is based on open entry for all abilities and ages and continues to offer competitors the chance to gain prestigious TTR World ranking points. To book your spot to compete or to take part in one of the FREE beginner lessons up for grabs go to:www.britishsnowtour.com

As part of a nationwide tour taking in Halifax, Kent, Norfolk, Leeds, Milton Keynes and last but not least…. Glasgow, the British Snow Tour looks forward to discovering fresh talent, crowning new British Champions and inspiring future ones throughout the Championship events and Schools Tour Programme.

The British Snow Tour and Schools Tour programme would not be possible without its highly supportive sponsors: Animal, Quiksilver, Trespass, SNO!zone, Cushe, SUSO, TSA and Ellis Brigham. Demo partners: DC, Ride, K2, Line and Clifbar. Media partners: Whitelines, Skiclub.co.uk, Metrosnow.co.uk, Extreme.com and Snowboardclub.co.uk.

The British Snowboard Tour event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
