The British Ski and Board Show 2008 is now in its twentieth year and to celebrate this milestone, the organisers are making its features bigger and more breathtaking then ever.

This year’s British Ski and Board Show 2008, held at Birmingham’s NEC from Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November, promises thrills and possibly some spills! Visitors are invited onto the practice slopes to learn the basics and brush up on their techniques while ski and board experts demonstrate how they push the boundaries with breathtaking displays. Every visitor will have the opportunity to have a free lesson from an instructor from John Nike Leisuresport, the UK’s largest snow and ice sports company with regional centres offering skiing, snowboarding, sno-tubing, toboggan and ice skating. From complete beginners to those looking to improve their skills, the slopes are open to anyone who wants to enjoy the snow plus equipment will be provided so all you need to do is turn up! Celebrating its 20th year at the NEC, the British Ski and Board Show will also feature mind blowing Big Air Freestyle* demonstrations from World and Olympic Champions on Europe’s largest indoor ramp. *Experts on hand to give advice and tips on the seminar stage including BBC Ski Sunday presenter and former British Ski Champion and Olympic Skier Graham Bell as well as 2010 Winter Olympic hopeful Zoe Gillings, who will be explaining what it takes to make Team GB. They will be joined by the Boot Doctor who will be explaining why having the right boots is essential when taking to the slopes as well as other equipment specialists *Away from the slopes, visitors can explore the fit to ski zone, cinemas and seminars or check out the latest equipment and fashions in the retail village where leading names will offer exclusive show offers. Plus resorts from all over Europe, North America and Canada will invite you to sample the delights they have to offer before you relax in the chill out zone. The British Ski and Board Show, sponsored by the Daily Telegraph, is open from 12noon until 8pm on Friday and 10am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
