Bellahouston Comp
A low key competition.
I picked up 3 kids from Hillend and went through to Bellahouston for about 11 am, only to find that we couldn’t get onto the slope as they said they where ‘too busy’ with classes. We couldn’t see all the people, only about 20 on the hill, not many we thought, but Macdonalds was only round the corner so off we went. Back at the hill about 12 ish, fed and watered and ready to go – up we went, and down in a flash. We all realised how lucky we are at Hillend, this slope is soooo short. The weather was fantastic, not what we had expected at all, and it stayed that way all day. Anyway, the slalom went on and there was lots of encouragement from everywhere, especially for locals that had just entered for the experience and knew they wouldn’t win. Then it was time for the ‘big air’, now for those of you that have visited the slope you will know that landing a ‘big air’ is not very pleasant there. With a flat, hard landing, big tricks only came to those that where really keen ! On that note when the final was called the 3 females decided not to continue and take the placing’s as they where. This was good as extra time was then allowed for the guys to strut their stuff and didn’t they just, they really put in top effort to please the crowd , all in all a great day out, thanks to all concerned.
