Britain’s top snowboarders and freestyle skiers will keep their cool during this Indian heat wave at Xscape, Milton Keynes on the 18th September 2004 in the national Orange AIM Series Indoor Boarder/Skiercross Championships, in association with O’Neill.

The Boarder/ Skiercross competition will be raced in heats of three, apart from the final that will be in fours. Orange AIM slope chief Spencer Claridge together with Milton Keynes’ slope staff will design a course will be challenging and fun for all levels of indoor riding. Like Castleford, skiing will be run in the morning and snowboarding in the afternoon. There will also be a friendly Slopestyle competition following the morning and afternoon Boarder/ Skiercross championships with the new jam session format in between for both the skiers and snowboarders.

Local talents such as snowboarders James Carr (GB Junior Team member), Lucy Passmore, (Indoor Slopestyle Champion) and Laura Berry (current British Slopestyle Champion) will all defend their home turf together with skiers Alex Collin and Jocelyn Cockle, who took 3rd place in last year’s skiercross.

The registration for the Snowboard Slopestyle competition is already closed as it reached the limit of 100 competitors. As the men’s last qualifying event for the Red Bull Storm in Glasgow, 25th September, the competition promises to showcase some stylish rail grinding as many riders will put on their best performances for the last two gold Tickets to Ride, including accommodation and travel. After qualifying at Hillend and Castleford Craig Howie (Edinburgh), Jamie Nicholls (Halifax), Ben McHugh (Glasgow) and Jon Russell (Sheffield) have all won their invitation to compete in this high profile international event.

To support the growth of snowboarding and skiing the Orange AIM Series’ free beginner O’Neill snowboard and Trespass ski lessons will be available to all ages of the of public. Enthusiasts can book their one hour lesson with a qualified instructor, hire gear and goody bag on www.orangeaimseries.com

The Orange AIM Series, Milton Keynes event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
