To kick off the Orange AIM Series, in association with O’Neill, 2004 calendar, Halifax Ski Centre will host the Artificial Big Air Championships 7-8 August 2004.

Many people thought this was the best UK AIM event last season in regards to riding and atmosphere. To not disappoint the crowds the Team Challenge is staying on the agenda!

Teams are made up by three members that will ride as a group and can utilise all obstacles on the slope in their run. Therefore judges will give out points for creativity, ‘flow’, difficulty and amplitude. Will the Vapor Team be able to keep their title?

The Orange AIM events that are run over a weekend will showcase the snowboard event on the Saturday and the Ski event on the Sunday.

7th August; Snowboard Competition
10am - 11am Registration
11am – 12 pm Big Air Practice
12 – 2 pm Big Air National Championships
2 - 3 pm Team Challenge
4 pm Prize Giving

8th August; Ski Competition
9 – 10 am Registration
10 – 11 am Big Air Practice

12 - 1 pm Team Challenge
2 pm Prize Giving

To keep us entertained during the weekend Mr Tim Warwood will be ruling the mic to the tunes of DJ Master Tony and Halifax Ski Centre will spark up their BBQ for that summer party feel.

After the success of the last two years the Orange AIM Series is concentrating on five championship events this year as well as an invitational Big Air competition alongside the Glasgow inner-city FIS World Cup event on the 9/10th October. (This event TBC)

This season all competitors under 16 are asked to wear a helmet and all snowboarders need a valid BSA licence to compete. Entry is open to all ages, sexes and performance levels and between heats equipment can be tested from Salomon, Ride, K2 and Apo. FREE O’Neill snowboard and Trespass ski lessons will be available to all beginners.

TheBoarder will see you there.

The Orange AIM Series, Halifax event page can be administered by dunx (Dunx), stu (Stu Brass), spencer (Spencer Claridge) and office (Office).
