2006 Orange AIM Series National Championships Return to Rossendale

Following the debut of the snowboardcross at the 2006 Winter Olympics, it's time to brush the dust off the body armour, and sharpen those edges, as the Orange AIM Series returns to Rossendale Ski Centre this weekend 16th & 17th September, for the British Artificial Snowboard / Skiercross Championships.

As the home to some of UK’s snowboard pioneers such as Steve Bailey, Danny Wheeler and Stu Brass, Ski Rossendale has a thriving freestyle scene. More recent stars gunning for a National title and looking to secure their names in the Rossendale hall of fame include 2005 British Artificial Snowboardcross Champion, Mollie Percival, 2006 Orange AIM Series Rail Jam Champ Colum Mytton and rising freeskier star, Joe Tomlinson.

Best described as a 21st century hybrid of snowboarding and motocross, the snowboard / skiercross championships will see competitors race against the clock and each other in heats of four until the fastest riders/skiers are left victorious. A more relaxed Big Air Jam will follow with riders' expressing individual style and tricks over the 8m jump. The Orange AIM Series is based on open entry and competitors compete in age categories, catering for all tastes, ages and performance levels.
