![]() British Indoor Slopestyle Championships. With Red Bull Jibber of the Day
The Orange AIM Series Slopestyle Championships Return to Castleford Xscape Saturday 3rd September 2005 sees the Orange AIM Series competition circuit returning to Castleford’s Xscape for the British Indoor Slopestyle Championships. 125 FREE beginner lessons are also up for grabs for those to get stuck in and give it a go. Competing in Slopestyle on Saturday, Multiple British Freestyle Ski Champion and Hemsworth local, Mike Wakefield who works and trains at Xscape will be a definitive contender for the title of Slopestyle Champion, but up against stiff competition from the likes of Sheffield lad Paddy Graham and Andy Bennett, it’s all open on the day. No bookies bets here, but Sam Cullum who won the Slopestyle jam at Milton Keynes on 20th August could be looking to snatch the Indoor title, alongside slopestyle king Stu Edwards and not forgetting young ripper Jamie Nicholls, who gave the more senior riders a run for their money by claiming the Artificial Slopestyle title back in Bracknell. Local rider Damian Doyle will know the course better than many, having designed the jib heaven layout that includes a fun single then double picnic bench line, finishing with a gapped spine ramp with Transco coping. For full course layout, check out: www.orangeaimseries.com REMEMBER ON-LINE PRE REGISTRATION ONLY! Orange will continue it’s search to find four amateur snowboarders to form the Orange Talk Now Team who will be coached by British rider Jenny Jones and will subsequently appear on the professional circuit. A panel of selectors will be attending each of the Orange AIM Series events and will be announcing the team in October. Their search started in Milton Keynes on Saturday 20th August 2005 and judging by the array of talent on display, the assignment will be a difficult one. Once selected the team will first participate in the Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show in London in October. Following the show the team will head off to the Alps for a training camp with Jenny Jones, one of the world’s highest ranking professional female snowboarders. Jenny will continue to coach and mentor the team throughout the six months and on returning from the training camp, will be preparing them to compete against the best riders from the UK at the Orange Brits, in Laax, Switzerland, from 11th-18th March 2006.
