AIM Series, Best of British
UK’s snowboard and freestyle ski elite will compete in the Orange AIM Series Big Air Invitational, “Best of British”.
Due to the cancellation of the FIS World Cup Big Air event in Glasgow, Orange AIM series, in association with O’Neill, has teamed up with the Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Show in London to hold their “Best of British” Big Air competition on the show’s 2.5 metre kicker, clearing a 6 metre wide Vert ramp. The wow factor will no doubt be high! The riders list for the Orange AIM Series Best of British Big Air at the Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Show on the 15th October 2004 has now been confirmed. Twelve snowboarders and eight skiers from the UK elite have been invited to ride at this high profile Orange AIM Series event, in association with O’Neill. Invited Snowboarders Dom Harington, Tyler Chorlton, James Thorne, Scott McMorris, Ryan Davies, Dan Wakeham, Ben Kilner, James Carr, Sam Cullum, Stu Edwards, Steve Bailey and Colum Mytton . Invited Skiers Andy Bennett, Mike Wakefield, Eddie Thelwell, Paddy Graham, Dave Young Jamie Cameron, Alex Murphy and Murray Buchan During two sessions, the afternoon qualifiers and the evening’s final, the Best of British event will take over the live action arena at the show, where the riders will be clearing a vert ramp shredding the 7 meters table jump. This is no game for sissies! Riders will be given two runs in the qualifiers at 3 pm, out of which the best score counts. In the final, the top 6 snowboarders and top 4 skiers will then be given two more runs in the final at 8.30 pm, that will culminate in ‘a one jump’ super final between the top 2 snowboarders/skiers. This year the jump at the Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show will be in the live action arena, providing seating for 1500 people to watch the competition.
