Orange AIM Series bring UK’s freestyle elite to the Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Show.

UK’s snowboard and freestyle ski elite will be showcasing fearless action as the Orange AIM Series presents the Best of British Big Air invitational contest and the Best Jib Crew Challenge at this year’s Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show at the Grand Hall, Olympia 12 – 16 October.

Taking over the 15 meter real snow Big Air jump in the Live Action Arena on Friday 14th October 2005, The Orange AIM Series Best of British is returning this year to please further freestyle hungry spectators. Twelve of Britain’s top snowboarders and eight skiers, among them British Champions and Olympic hopefuls, will pull out all stops to go higher, bigger and better in the race for the Best of British title. Through the afternoon qualifying event only the top half highest scores will go through to the evening final. In last year’s event the snowboarders threw down 720 rotations and freestyle ski super star Mike Wakefield was the first Brit to pull a full d-spin 900 rotation in a UK event – so there’s no doubt the sickest British Big Air battle of the year will be the highlight of the ski show week!
Snowboarders will be:

Scott Mcmorris
Tyler Chorlton
Ryan Davis
Stu Edwards
Ed Gunn
Mike Austin
Sam Cullum
Adam Gendle
Josh Wolf
Mollie Percival
Jamie Nicholls tbc
James Thorne tbc
Vic Boys tbc

Confirmed skiers are:
Andy Bennett
Mike Wakefield
Brad Scott
Paddy Graham
Murray Buchan
Tom Last
Andrew Colin
Eddie Thelwell
Jamie Cameron
James Woods

Over in The Boardroom the centre piece is the 20 square meter grind rail area with a 5.5 meter straight box rail and a five meter rollercoaster box. This is the place where UK’s hottest jibbers will battle it out in the Orange AIM Series Best Jib Crew challenge. Five snowboard and two freestyle ski crews, handpicked through a nationwide search, will dazzle the crowds with their technical talent in five daily competitions. With five members in each crew they all have one day to score as many points possible for their crew. At the end of the show UK’s Best Jib Crew with most points will win the honourable title. As the most preferred freestyle discipline among UK’s snowboarders and freestyle skiers this will be a show with attitude, precision and bags of style!

The show will also see the first public appearance of the Orange Talk Now snowboard team. The team comprises four amateur snowboarders, spotted at the Orange AIM Series events in the summer, who have been signed to ride for six months. Coached and mentored by Jenny Jones, the team will be competing later in the season at the Orange Brits in the Alps in March 2006.

For tickets to the The 2005 Daily Mail Ski and Snowboard Show, including the Orange AIM Series Best of British and Best Jib Crew, buy online www.dailymailskishow.co.uk or call 08705 900 090. Advanced weekday tickets starts from £9.00 for Adults and £27 for Family.
