Hi,
I, like many others, am in the market for my first board. I've been boarding a few times but as they've always been quite far apart still consider myself somewhere between beginner and intermediate (can carve and ride a bit of switch).
Looking around for a board, and on previous advice I'm been looking at entry level boards (Wallpaper, Burton Clash, Palmer Flash). However, I've got the opportunity to get a Volkl Wall Pro reasonably priced.
Would it be unwise to get a first board that is geared towards a more advanced rider? The blurb says that it is "forgiving" but also that it's for "riders that expect a lot from themselves".
Basically, I want to know if getting a slightly more advanced board might hinder me at the moment?
Cheers

go with the Palmer, great board that'll take you up to intermediate and beyond.
DOnt think that getting a beginners board will be like riding something with stabilizers you cant take off. These boards are designed for a person at that level of boarding, if you were to jump onto a palmer crown for eg you'll prob never be able to turn it and hate it (unless youre doing mach 10 down the mountain..) cos its so stiff.
THe boards you've mentioned are all good boards, and there wont be a time you'll suddenly wake up and think that youre board is holding you back....
And normally they're cheaper too..... |

Cool, cheers guys!
In the end I went on impulse and have purchased a Rossignol Scope. Seemed like it was someway between the two options. And I like the look of it too which is always a bonus. |

Was just about to say...depending on how 'reasonable' the price is, you won't go far wrong with the Volkl Wall Pro from the reviews I've read. Also one of the best looking boards I've seen, the base rocks! |
