| The trouble is they'd have no way of verifying a member until the see the card. If we gave away a special link or code, the people would just share them. |

| On a happy note - recently I got a skate banana in the end of season sale, with the 10% SCUK discount on top of the sale (thanks s2as.com). The card had already paid for itself a few times over so at this point everything is just gravy... |

| All they'd have to do is ask to see the card when you collect the ticket though. However, considering the issues with staff awareness of discounts in the past they'd have to make sure they do actually check... |

| Staff awareness can be a big issue , some ask to see it , some dont , some say discount doesnt apply etc ..... i always ask for duty managers if i see ppl having problems ( im lucky most of them know my ugly mug at cas and mk now lol ) or have scuk page on phone with discount page ready to show them ..... long lkive the SCUK discounts |

You can when you book on the phone but you can't put a code into their website at all when you book online... So it's a bit of a moot point because you can't even get to that stage. |

| What I'm getting at is that there should be a promotional code that you can use online to give you the SCUK discount with the caveat that they will check that you have a valid membership card before printing your ticket. No membership, no ticket. |

I don't normally jump in on many of the convo's as I don't always have anything helpful to add, however in this case, do the membership cards come with a number? A randomly generated 6/8 digit alpha numeric number that could be used to identify the card and member when booking online.
I realise that there would need to be a database of some sort set up which would need updating etc, but could be a starting point...I'm not in IT so don't know how hard that would be to set up and administer |

| Everybody has a membership number, but the problem is that none of the slopes are going to invest in changes to their IT infrastructure to give away a discount. Of course, it's all technically possible, but it's still a lot of effort for no gain. It's just easier all round to do it manually. Also Data Protection makes it tricky for us to give anybody access to our database. We could provide limited details solely for this purpose, but... see above. |

| Hemel has the option to enter a discount code on their site and although it's not officially listed in the discounts page, if you enter a certain code you can buy the discounted membership online without any proof of your SCUK membership. I haven't actually bought one online so they may well check your SCUK card before handing you your Hemel card. |
