| Hey Kritter - have you ridden any other Rome boards? I only got a shot on the swallow tail so can't really comment, but generally think of it very similar performance wise to the Anthem, but with a more pow orientated shape (fatter nose to tapered tail) |

| Hey Matt, Never ridden a ROME before but have heard good things. Have Lib S.B. for dicking around all over the hill which I love, but am looking to get more into powder. I see that Absolute have a notch in stock which is why I was asking. Its f**king hard to choose, I've got it down to a few, Notch, Flagship, APO spray???????? |

Yea it's tricky... but i have only ridden the Notch out of the ones you mention so i can't really comment.. someone on here must have ridden the flagship though!
Have you looked at Dupraz if you want a second board? they were my leftfield winners at the board test! Radical shapes and a real surf inspired design (their lengths are even in ft and inches)
Otherwise, can't recommend the Notch highly enough |

I have the 158 notch from 2007. (The board I'm hiking with in my avatar.) Its a cambered board, although the notch they make now is some sort of rocker or cam/rock or rock/cam/rock etc.
It's one of the best boards I've ever owned, tapered but great on piste, fast base and most importantly great in powder. Very manouverable and good at speed. A real confidence builder as it is so easy to ride.
Having tried many different boards and bindings I suddenly found myself with a lot of Rome gear. (I have a garage rocker for domes and use 390s and Targa bindings.) So I definitely rate Rome equipment. |

That board will be alot of fun did you get the 162?
Never fall into the belief that a all mountain board is similar.
What you are entering is a quiver for whatever nature provides.
Not a compromise.
The vast amount of design features makes the difference to the riders advantage and gain offpiste.
This is in terrain, snow depth and slope angles that that powder board is suited too .
Some are versatile its the area of versatility such as the example of trees or wider open terrain even snow depth that defines them.
They must be the right size and flex to suit those aims for the rider.
Bottom line Kritter is you are on track to kick off. |
