Hi All
I have spent 10 days on the slopes in total so would say i am moving to intermediate and am hoping i will gain confidence with speed down the mountain.
I am looking to purchase a new board and have been swayed towards a K2 Turbo dream (found it for a good price), i've read it will be good in almost all aspects of the mountain.
There are 2 sizes available and both the 156 and 159 have the same weight ranges, (i am 5'10" and around 12.5 to 13 stone so am bang in the middle of this) UK Size 10.5 or 11 boot, So assuming i dont need a wide!
can anyone advise me on the suitability of this board and the size that would be best to go for?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Kind regards
Terry |

Hi Terry,
The board will be fine for you in my opinion, just be aware it is pretty much a rockered board though, flat middle and rockered ends, so if you haven't tried rocker try and use it before you purchase as it seems to be a love or hate thing when coming off a regular cambered board.
Next thing your feet are boarderline needing a wide (especially if hard charging, big carves are what your aim is) so bear that in mind, generally people move to a wide over size 10 feet but it does depend on the type of riding.
Both those sizes will be suitable the 159 will be better if you want stable at speed and to ride deep powder and basically be more freeride orientated. The 156 would make a better all round board, and would make freestyle life a little easier so it just depends on what you plan on riding like.
Hope that helps, i'm sure others will be along with advice as well, hopefully not too far off the advice above though! |

Thanks for your reply. I believe a 157 Wide would be in the right size for me (more likely to do freestyle than freeride. Ive looked at the specs and associated widths and the 159 is still slightly too small in the waist.
A problem is that it's very unlikely I will be able to try the board? This may not be ideal but I suppose I could always sell it on if I didn't get on with it. I have only ridden a cambered board before Aswell!? I have found it for £215 online so it's almost too good to pass as its down from rrp £400?? |

Hi mate,
Chances are you will love the rocker especially if your more into your freestyle more but with all mountain and like to hit the pow when it arrives you won't be disappointed in my opinion.
Theres going to be boards that make your life easier in certain situations and harder in others but it will improve your own riding if your riding in those harder situations anyway, i'd say go for it, enjoy and from what i've read about how you ride this particular board will make life easier more of the time than making it harder.
P.S is the place online SS20? They have that size in for that price, there my local awesome guys always try get my gear from them if i can. |
