had Dainese and moved to 661 Evo and it's a world better. D30 sponge so no hard plastic, v mobile and great protection despite their thinner bulk.
couple tips with them tho: swap/spin the sponge around as it's smooth on 1 side and lumpy on other - it's more comfortable swapped around so it's smooth against the knee instead of lumpy (as supplied). And, even more, chop a square of old fabric from an old t-shirt and place in them, in the rubber-pocket so it's between rubber and knee - helps to prevent the rubber sliding skin off the knees in a fall, as I've found... Think they're designed as MTB knee-pads and thus expected to go over material, thus can be a little "aggressive" when the d30 hardens against naked skin...
know it sounds negative but they're fantastic knee-pads, just their easy-foam access (to allow removal for cleaning) means they could be a little more skin-friendly at times... |

Up until the last couple of months I would have recommended Forcefield ones, But I'm thinking about getting some Skateboarding ones for indoors as my Forcefield ones just don't seem to be up to the job for Freestyle nights, Came home with a few heavy bruises lately and think I might have done some ligament damage as well, Had been told Dainese "Knee V" mechanical armour are pretty good
Also been told to have a look at Volleyball knee pads as well bizarrely |

I've got 661 Kyle straights (a bit cheaper than the evo's as they're not d30!) Mainly got them for mtb and they've saved my knees a few times when I've had a big spill. Really comfortable and I hardly know they're there.
I've also heard good things about using volleyball knee pads (though before I'd seen it I didn't even no there was such a thing!) |

| Kyle straits all the way!! They have a semi hard shell on the knee , its plastic but pretty flexible,so you get plenty protection with plenty movement too. I have had them for biking for the last 5years and will always use them from now on. So comfy, and i use them on the skin not over any material. |
