hi guys, hope someone can help...
got an offer to goto Tignes for a week but its for next week - ie have to get there Sat.
I can get flights to Geneva which arrive late Sat evening, but that's where I get stuck - what have ppl used in the past and any ideas?
found a website for Geneva -> bour st maurice train times but nothing goes in the evening...
minibus transfer companies online quotes are quoting silly cash. |

dunno what you mean bart what draw? if i happened to, anyone from here going on the SuperRad camp next weeek?
Cantridepete - I came to that conclusion, my options seem to lead me to either sleeping in an airport or train station somewhere... so have booked an evening flight to Geneva 2morro/Fri and a cheapo hotel in Geneva for Fri night. I'm thinkin of the Geneva -> Bourg st whatever train leaving about half 9 sat morning - but can you do anything else? (edit, just seen your pm) |

Try getting in touch the Melezes in Les Boisses. They are an active hotel during the off-season and they have transfers running between Geneva and Tignes.
Think they charge around 45 Europes each way. As long as they have space and your flight times match any guests stay there, you should be in business... |

| If you haven't already booked flights, then try and fly into chamberry as the transfer to tignes is ALOT shorter! |

yeah, next to no flights to chambery. hell, if I want to go from my local Manc airport there's only 1/day to Geneva and none to any other the other main airports around there (Lyon, etc.)
So few options out of season really surprised as I would have thought there's a fair business for MTB riders going to that area during the summer-months.
think I've got it all sorted and cheers guys. Only thing missing is Bourg st Maurice to Tignes final bit, but I've read there's a few buses running through the day so will chance it when I get there. |

We are just back, we were there sun 1st - 8 th July. we went with tour company "alpine elements", so if your stuck, you could always ask them if there's space on one of their coaches, but that would be on a Sunday.
To be honest, from what we saw, there won't be much snow left in a couple of weeks, and they had already closed some runs before we had left, ( not that there were many open to begin with).
Saying that, we will definitely return next year for more summer boarding. |
