Just wear warm clothes and a waterproof layer. Also gloves although you can buy a pair there for about £10. And a beenie to wear under your helmet.
And yes, by the end you can link your turns down a hill. |

Link turns yes, hold your own no.
If you can spare the time and cash you'll benefit from going as often as possible after your course, it takes a bit of practice to develop the skills needed to get from top to bottom of any mountain run without falling. Also recommend impact shorts, you'll be spending a lot of time on your arse. |

Eh up mate, welcome to the forum!
+1 on the impact shorts if possible. As mentioned get yourself some gloves and definately get some snowboard socks (learnt that lesson the hard way when i done my lessons a few years ago). Apart from that just rent the waterproof jacket/trousers there for a few quid.
Are you doing the board in a day course or just doing one lesson? Once you're upto recreational standard you should be ok linking turns so if you were to hit the mountain you'll be ok getting down greens and the easier blues. Again though as mentioned hammer the indoor slope before you get away and it'll make your holiday a hell of a lot more enjoyable being able to confidently get down as opposed to bricking it and falling on your backside every few metres. Goodluck with it though dude and be prepared to get addicted |

Cheers for the replies. Yeh I'm doing the learn in a day course but won't really have time to hit the indoor slopes as often as I'd like. I work away and weekends off with colleagues are always boarding ones and I was sick of missing out just because I'd never learned. I'm hoping the learn in a day course will get me to a standard and then at least I can learn a bit more of these guys without ruining their weekends.
I reckon I'm addicted before going ha too excited |

| When are you due to go away? I'm guessing not till next season now so you'll DEFINATELY have to get some time in on the slopes before June and then buddy or it'll be like learning from scratch again. |

| Yeh it's gonna be quite hard to do but I'll be going as often as I can. May be limited to like once a month. This is a bit of a test whether I can actually do it ha. |

| Try not to be devastated if your lesson goes well and you're linking turns with gusto one day, then flat on your arse the next. It takes a long time and a lot of practice before you are competent on a mountain. You will be holding your mates back for the first few trips so be prepared to let them get on with it and find yourself a nice bunny slope to learn on. Try to achieve too much too quick without the grounding and you're setting yourself up for a world of pain and frustration. |
