Just did a Google to find out more on this.

www.snowboardclub.co.uk/news-11646.html

Fire does seem to be the final straw for many an ailing slope. I also just read on Facebook that Snow+Rock were in the process of moving out.

Insensitive, potentially libellous, comment removed. This was probably not an insurance job. Honest.

It's probably a good idea to hear facts before making potentially libellous comments...

Awwwwww, Charlie! Sad
This is teh internetz, people say stuff all the time that's potentially libellous! However, you make a fair point, so I shall retract my rather insenstitive comment and apologise to the people who have lost their livelihoods/jobs etc as a result of this horrible event.

Very Sad news indeed. In 1998 I first strapped on a snowboard there and was hooked.

People can also get sent to jail for finding alternative solutions to an "ailing slope". That was my immediate thought when I read the news, but seeing as its already been suggested/removed, I won't go there again Wink

To be fair the local scrotes have been burning bits of it down for years so it was probably just that.

When I did the initial Google for the fire it came up with quite a few different incidents. Previous fires have been on the slope itself or on the adventure playground part.

I can't see them coming back from this I'm afraid. They're in-between CFe, Tam and Cas.

There's been another fire today, this time a shed on the slope.

www.snowboardclub.co.uk/news-11660.html

According to that video mini, management say the centre will return.
