Was there last year. Loved it. It's quite a linear resort, i.e. all the runs go down one face next to each other pretty much but it makes it great to get to them without any thought. It's also linked to the next village down which gives some options for tree lined runs.

Went there 5 or 6 years ago and really enjoyed it - it's quite a small place but there's a nice variety to the slopes and lots of thinsg to pop off. Also being a lesser known resort you don;t get hordes tracking the off-piste out.

Also I was talking to a work colleague who has been there 2 or 3 times, he did the long off-piste back from the galcier on the other side (we'd been aiming to do this when we there but hadn't been able to get any inof about t from the travel reps). Anyhow it sounds like a route that's well worth doing if you are of a decent level, maybe check out some more info on it though as it sounds like there are some largish drops.

Went there at the end of January, nice place, if you go then I would recommend taking the gondola over to Ponte de Legno, it has some good tree runs and is usually quieter and has better snow if its icy in Passo Tonale.
The town is only small with only a few places to drink in the evenings, but if your going there for the mountain then that doesn't matter. We never had to que for a lift the whole week as well.
Only real down side was the transfer from Verona, 3 hours, but there are some nice views.

Been a few times to Passo, its a nice little resort.

There is some decent offpiste to be had just off the side of the slopes and by dropping back behind the lifts. Hadn't snowed for a while but we still hit a lot of untracked powder, bit claggy but still loads of fun!

Burton has a park set up there which has a variety of kickers boxes rails and other random toys to play with and is all looked after by a specialist park builder who has his own basher to keep it tip top. Boardercross runs down the side, its not big but fun to blast down!

Apres is quiet, mainly focussed around the Magic Bar at the side of the slopes but at happy hour, you can buy a litre of beer for 6 euros and they hand out free snacks too! Lot of germans conga-ing round the place (and handing out butties when we were there!!) but good for a laugh!

There is a nightclub that is Europop central which is always good for a laugh! And to top it all off for the discerning brit abroad, there is a kebab shop right outside. Nico's Bar next to the kebab shop also has random special offers throughout the evening such as buy one get one free beers (at 4.50 euros)

Couple of decent snowboard shops for mid week tune-ups or buying swag! If you are going half board, mostly the food is top notch, we have stayed at the Cielo Blu, Orchidea and Edelweis which all served good food. Self catering is more limited in Passo to the Top apartments and the blue towers of doom at the bottom of the valley. Only one Spar shop that gets cleared out of fresh meat quickly so need to be quick!

Overall, its a nice little resort! Hope that helps!

I've got several memorable experiences of my one and only trip to Passo Tonale:

1. The mid-week striptease show at the main nightclub

2. Being the only Brits in a hotel with 200 Belgians and coming 6th out of 15 teams in their pub quiz that was conducted in Flemish (don't understand a word of Flemish but we managed to clean up in the pictures and music rounds)

3. Nearly dying when the front binding broke clean off the poor quality hire board while straightlining at speed down a red run.

4. The mid-week striptease show at the main nightclub

Went there yesterday as a day away from Madonna di Campiglio. As has already been said it's only a small place with a lot of straight runs all next to each other , so looks like a massive Snowdome! But some more interesting stuff off to the sides and the park looked OK. Weather was goo, Snow wasn't too bad, but machine made and it was pretty busy for a small resort so by the end of the day some of the runs were a bit patchy. Might get a bit boring for a full week but would be good for a few days

I haven't been but am going in April the ski area as a whole doesn't sound too bad. There is a glacier and what looks to be a decent park.

We did a trip there back in January, as aboves comments. Very small resort but plenty of untouched off piste as most people there wern't interested in it.

also go to Madona area which is free on the full area pass, which is a big resort with park etc

I 'm going with Inghams and they wouldn't sell me a full area pass only for passo del tonale, wondering what I should do as I want to ride the whole area or at least the best of whats open in early april.
