60MB??????!!!!!!!! holy crap, my poster would be epic if they got my speed that fast.
"I, Richard Branson, will be increasing your broadband by 4000%" or what ever it would be!
thats about 40x faster than my current connection (1.5MB on a good day)! stupid house being in the country and 3km away from the exchange. Still i live in a zoo so cant be bad |

It's not as life changing as it sounds, my net feels the same as it does pretty much anywhere
Anything over 10MBps+ is generaly overkill (unless you have a lot of people using the same line) |

For general internet surfing, sure. But for online gaming and downloading/streaming movies it's a god send! To be able to download a full HD movie in seconds in amazing IMO. |

Online gaming uses barely any bandwidth... ping is important for gaming online
Plus I don't know of many servers that provide files for download at 20, 30MBps a second etc... Even when torrenting the speeds are never overly incredible as you're limited by the upload speed of seeders
It's more of a gimmick to make people think they are getting something better than their neighbour, much like Monster cables etc |

| It does seem over kill, though.. the other thing with Virgin is at peak times in cities you can get shockingly poor speeds. I'd rather pay more money for a guaranteed lower speed around the 10 mark, but actually be able to access that speed, without traffic shaping limits etc whenever I like. |

Another one whilst all the Uni students are asleep - pretty much at the maximum capabilities of the CAT5 cable that's in the wall to the servers.
Edit: Things like YouTube don't buffer any faster than if i was loading the video at work or home, plays instantly but still hops along slowly on the buffering bar, dictated by the rate YouTube provides it to the user |
