Payday!
Just trying to work out how much spending cash I'll be needing. How expensive is food/drink/booze in Mayrhofen?
Edit: Anyone know if I'll be getting backcountry/transfer refunds from outgoing before we leave? |

| From what i remember from 2 years ago, prices were fairly similar to this country. If you want to save a bit of money, there's a spa in the middle of town so you can buy ham/cheese etc and then get some buns and cake from the bakery opposite on a morning for lunch. We're planning on taking about £200 quids worth of funny money each. |

I don't know when the refunds are due. I'll ask.
I hear Mayrhofen can be quite cheap, but I guess that depends on how often you offer to buy the first round.
Personally I take €200 plus whatever is lying around at home and a card for the cash point. Try to throw as much at the credit card as possible, so mountain food and trips to the supermarket for beer. |

| If you want to go on the smash every night you will need more. Its been known people waking up on a morning on a bash and being 100euro lighter, then seeing pictures of 15 jager bombs at 5euro a pop on the loop bar. |

I ordered my Euros online last night from Saga... 1.156 Euro:Pound (which seems to be the best rate around, even for collection unless you live in London), and they deliver free
I got 400 Euros, which was about £340 - but I don't have a credit card, so needed some spare "emergency" cash just in case. I've no intention of spending it all. |

Mayrhofen is not that cheap. At least when I was there last year it didn't seem so compared to other parts of Austria I'd been to.
It adds up when you stray from the beers (which are cheap), and start getting the shots in.
TRUE STORY: Woke up missing c. €200 from my wallet and it wasn't until I was told I'd bought about 50 minuture bottles of Jager that I realised where my money had gone. Still, it looked pretty on the bar, I'm sure. |

I got a little tipsy in Laax once and offered to pay for a meal for 11 people. £250 later... I'm sure somebody can top that.
P.S. That is not a challenge BTW! |

I spent 9.50 on a dram to have with my meal. Was a huge wtf moment when the bill came.
That bottle must pay for itself before the 4th measure has finished being poured. |

| I must be doing something wrong, if I don't spend around £500 I feel like I have missed out on something but i do drink a fair bit (but I don't have a problem) |
