Again, doing Geneva to Tignes on Saturday.

There's quite a bit of snow forecast for all saturday, and I have booked chains as a precaution.

How bad do conditions have to get before they close the road from Bourg St Maurice? And if they do, what the hell are my options?

I'm driving from Harrogate (Yorkshire) to Tignes at the end of March with my gf and two more girls in my car. No help there when the snowchains need to go on lol.

Hope your trip goes well. Good Luck!!!

It has to get pretty bad, they're pretty sharp on the snow ploughs. You'll certyainly know when to put chains on because the police will make you Smile

Top tip is to have some gloves that you can use your fingers in when you put on snow chains. There is nothing quite so miserable as losing feeling in your hands when you're fiddling with cold chains in a snow storm.

hell yeah! I've always got some gardening gloves in the car Smile

what time are you driving? Unless your getting there in the middle of the night your unlikely to get problems, it would have to be the mother of dumps to close it in the day and i dont think anything like that is due....

Should hit BSM around 3pm. Sounds like it wont be too much mither. Been studying 'how to fit snow chains' vids on youtube.

Seeing as Im doing the driving, the passengers will be on fitting duties.

I did a trip to Andorra from Barca, me + 3 blokes in the car, guess who was the only one who could work out how to put the snowchains on... Smile
