Afternoon All,
Got a few questions that I understand will not be the easiest to answer, but thought I would give it a shot. I am currently trawling the site that is eBay trying to pick myself up a board and bindings for relatively cheap as I am tired of hire boards.
However when it comes to 2nd hand prices, and prices in general for snowboard I am quite noob, infact I know nothing. Not wanting to get ripped off, especially for a 2nd hand board I am going to post a couple of the ones I'm interested, if you could give me a ball park figure would be much appreciated. I understand a lot comes into question, e.g. condition of the board.
Also if you have any tips for me on eBay, like whatr boards would be good to look out for please let me know.
Burton Blunt 158 2010 with Cartel Bindings (very interested in this)
Saloman Pulse 156 with Burton Freestyle bindings (lime green base and black top sheet)
Palmer Honeycomb 3 with burton Cartel bindings
Saloman Special 159
Ride Prophet 2006
Appreciate it can be hard to judge butt these boards look in good condition with the usual wear and tear marks
Kind Regards,
Bill |

bearing in mind you can get a board for around half price at the end of the season i'm not sure a second hand one is a good idea unless it's fairly new/ you know what your looking for.
i got mine last march for £160 down from £285 with bindings for £90 down from £135 |

Thanks isurefly, watching it now
And true Dynamo, I dont get a chance to board much in all fairness, and I want to try and budget myself to around the £150 mark for both the board and bindings, only reason I am looking at 2nd hand to be honest!! |

As in life, spend what you can afford!
If your budget is 150 and those boards go for more, don't bid anymore. If it's a bid auction then the board will go for a price that it is worth to that individual!
That said, read the "snowboard SOS" thread that was recently put up for the perils of ebaying!! |

Thank you Jake, yes picked up on that thread other day! Can't be too careful!!
So much choice on eBay atm, watching around 40 boards. If nothing comes up I'll keep plucking away into the end of the season!!
Then I might dangle the members on here from their ankles and see what they have for me!!
5ft 10, around 185 pounds, size 10 boot. Am i right in saying go for a board aroudn the 158 mark? |

If you don't find what you're after on ebay then i've got a pair of black Cartel's (normal 4 screw baseplate) size L that i'm about to sell. Only shifting them as i've just replaced with some white ones from another member on here (my new board suits white bindings better...tart that i am).
Been used for about 4 weeks, usual scuffs etc but all working well. Same as these (for illustration only, haven't taken any pics of mine yet)
Will take £50 |

the thing is thats nearly £400, where as its easily possible to get a decent used board and bindings for under £200... |

Hi there, I've bought and sold quite a few boards and bindngs on eBay and touch wood have never had any problems. What I would say is that Burton gear always seems to fetch the most money, I am guessings it's because it's one of if not the most well known brand there is in snowboarding. I think people who are new to it tend to go for the burton stuff so it can push the prices up. If your after a good second hand board at a fair price I would look at salomon or someone similar. These tend to go for alot less than burton stuff and you can get some real bargains.
Hope this helps |

The special is a beast of a board for a beginer. It's a brilliant board ,super fast good edge hold and carves like a dream.
It wouldn't be my choice as a first board. |

| I think it's pretty important when buying a board to think about where you will be using it. A week in france each year or will you mostly be using it in a dome? |
