Well it was my first time away on a mountain on my snowboard and fxxk me it was an experience ,met a couple from south london on the first day at the hotel (scuk forum members) and went out with them onto red runs at le tour , then hit some greens down at le flagere which was cool as the snow was silly deep but made the mistake of doing the black run down le praz which was so intense (the guy said if we done a red run we would be fine) never trust the frence lol.
we also managed to do some mild off piste on the first day which was out of this world waist high powder and really steep
on the last day we had the chance to watch the swatch world freeride tour boys which was also amazing.this sport is like a crazy drug and i cant wait to get out on my board again
also would like to thank everyone that answered the questions i posted as they did help me out alot

Ha ha, bet you were grinning when you got to the bottom though...and I hope you kept your speed to make it back to Flegere car park!?!
Your quite lucky, that run's often closed as the snow level moves up the mountain so for a first trip you must have got a good amount of snow. So when you goin back? |

It was intense that's for sure And the amount of snow was good managed to make it within 40ft of the car park so I was happy , not going back until next season but I'll be in the dome very soon |

Good to hear you are taken by the bug dude , it really is like a drug, im off to Mayrhofen in 3weeks but before i go im busting my ass at work because i know once im back im going to be dying to head off again,so im going to have the cash in reserve for a cheeki march trip me thinks .
Being a snowboarder rocks!! Today while trying to talk the smokin hot italian girl im dating at the mo out of skiing lessons,so i can teach her to board ,she referred to my chat as "spoken like a true boarder" haha. |

| I would have booked another trip the day I got back if it wasn't for the two kids, women at home and a business to run , it's the worst holiday blues I've ever had lol |

| You should try the frustration of recovering from a snapped achilles and being unable to get on a board at all whilst Europe is having its best snow for a decade! |

Hi Mark,
Was it a Skiweekends coach deal by any chance? I'm looking at Chamonix for a weekend in Feb. Its just that it sounds a similar deal and a previous post you did mentioned the same 2 other resorts I was considering. Also set off Thurs, back Mon.
Got couple of resort questions for ya...
What lift pass did you get and how much was it?
Did you do half board?
Was everything MEGA expensive whilst you were there?
Cheers,
Ben |

hi ben, i did go with skiweekends thursday to mondy but went by plane sod the coach, the rep came to out hotel (des lacs) with lift passes so we got them from her same price as the tourist info centre,we went bed and breakfast as we wanted to go out and eat which we did next door most nights in the hotel vert chef was top draw and roast lamb shank on sunday, i did try staying there but was only availuble if i went by coach again sod that lol,
wasnt too bad price wise i spend 580 about 140 eating and the rest on shots ,jugs and the generally having a knees up but i did take snickers and mars bars and other snack for the mountain as they cost a bomb ,go to spar for water etc as thats 5euros for a tiny bottle up top
go for hotel vert if you can nice rooms barman and owers are up for a drink good dj friday night and just a generally nice hotel ,hotel lacs was just bed shower asnd back out

I think I've left it a bit late to fly, the price is 349 for coach or 669 to fly. So I'm going to keep that 300 quid for myself and put up with the coach. I was going to do the bash on coach but things just didn't work out right this year to go in early feb, bummer hey!
So cheering myself up with a weekend in France on 23rd instead. I really wish it was the bash though, oh well, next year.
Good call on the snacks, that'll knock a few quid off at those prices.
It looks like hotel vert is available, so will make sure I get booked in there. |
