Hi,
need some advice on a second pair of goggles, I have some standard Oakley ones that have served me well on an average day.
But I need a second pair for those days where you cant tell where the ground stops & sides begin.......or in fact any contours of the ground as every thing looks flat until my nose is pressed up against the ground/ side of mountain
I've been looking at some yellow tinted lenses, is this the way to go?
Any advice would be great |

| yellow or rose coloured ive been told for flat light/ snowy days as they help filter the blue light and help to increase contrast |

| Which Oakleys have you got? Might be better just getting a second lens as it saves carrying two pairs around with you. I've got a persimmon lens for flat light and it's great. But Oakley lenses can be quite expensive. |

I think they are A Frames, I bought them in 2006 for first boarding holiday and then used them last year for the second one.
Big gap in the middle due to babies ect |

A yellow or Amber non reflective lens is good for flat light.
Just get a second lens you can change when the conditions suit. Unless of course you just want a whole new set of frames, just because you want some new gear. A lot of brands other than Oakley (which are really over priced), already come with a second yellow/amber lens included. |

Im not sure if that is a joke - I may be being a bit dumb and not hearing the internet speak sarcasm.
I will assume it is a joke because they really aren't. |

| I looked at spare yellow lens for my A frames but went with a cheapo yellow goggle instead. I don't have to use them often and couldn't justify the price, plus I find changing lenses can be a pain, simpler to bung the spare pair in my backpack and just swap if the weather closes in. |

It was sarcasm... kind of
I've found Oakley lenses to be significantly better than any other brand I've tried. But then I haven't tried any others for about 7 years now as my A-frames have lasted that long. They never ever mist up, and the Iridium coatings help you to see a lot more detail than with the other brands my mates were using last week.
Still, not sure they're twice as good tho |

Thanks for the advice, will probably go for a second pair to stick in my rucksack as changing lenses seems like a hassle.
If anyone has any links to show me where to get some good ones that are not too expensive that would be good too |

| I've always found that Oakley goggle and sun glasses lenses don't distort the colours of your surroundings in the way that the lenses used by some other brands do. Think they're worth the extra for not turning the whole world into shades of the lense colour! |
