Hey folks...
I got my hands on an old Forum board... never seen anything like it as it has a DUAL CHANNEL system; instead of a single channel down the middle (at the nose and tail), it has two channels off-center.
Don't know if this will work, but here is a basic ascii drawing:
/======================\
'''-----------'''''''''''''''''''''''''------------'''
'''-----------'''''''''''''''''''''''''------------'''
\======================/
(I put some white coloured "spacers" in there to try and make the image look right - just ignore em if you see em)
I can't find any reference to this on the web (I don't know the "model" name), it could be quite old... but does anyone have any recommendations on how to connect this up properly to the bindings?
There is a dual nut in each channel, but the older bindings that I have for them can't quite hit them all (i.e. I can't get my current binding discs in all four holes for each binding.
Dual Nut: O------O
I have managed to rotate the discs so that I can get 3 screws in.
Considering that a normal single channel takes only two screws (as can normal boards), do you think it would be suitable to ride with the bindings only attached with the three screws?
I can get some pics to ya if needed, but ideally I hoped that someone might have an internet reference out there!
Thanks! |

Oh man, takes me back.
Had a Forum Grudge about 8 years back with the same thing.
What bindings are you trying to fit. I remember having to do 3 hole fixings on them, but 4 holes with Forum bindings worked okay.
is this the fella

Super fast reply... thanks!
That's not the board, but that's definitely the setup.
My board doesn't even have the markings inbetween the channels so you can see how "off center" you are when adjusting...
I've got some Drake MTX bindings (again quite old) that I'm trying to hook up, and I have the Drake universal discs to go with them so it gives almost all options.
So you used 3 screws with this setup (a bit like a Burton 3D setup)?
No problems? |

Yeah I had some burtons on there for a little while using 3D plates until I got some forum bindings. Rode fine. There were no marking on mine either, was pure guess work.
The pic was of the Ltd Ed version of the grudge, could be a normal grudge or youngblood. I reckon your looking around 2006-2007 when they used it
Only problem I had was I bought the board while I was drunk |

Thanks for the advice tho... really need to just test it out.
Board needs a service and sharpened up a bit - will try it out next time I'm at SnoZone.
Found an image of the sucker though.
Seems like an older model of the one you were showing!
Yikes... |

Union & K2 bindings have slotted discs so should work as long as either the slots in the board or the dual bolts are a standard width.
EDIT: and Ride bindings too, apparently! |

Thanks for all the comments people... seems like it's a good board.
I have found some discs for the Drake bindings that will allow them to be attached using all four nuts.... I just have to find the right washers for them!
I'm going to ride em using 3 nuts for now (with the universal Drake discs). I'm going to replace one of the channels on each end from the dual-nut configuration to a single sliding nut to make sure the pressure is correct.
Once I find the right washers, I'll change it over to the 4 nut configuration to make sure I get maximum hold.
Thanks again folks! |
