All signed up for the WB, even though I'm just above beginner level! Not been on a board for a while, so will probably be spending some time falling on my ass and learning to link turns!

Anyone else going at a similar level? Confused

I've never snowboarded on a mountain before but I can link turns. I do need to learn how to turn onto my toe edge without twisting and forcing my back foot to slide though. I've never tried jumps/rails and panic a bit riding switch so I'd class myself as a beginner. I expect I'll have my fair share of faceplants!

I'm not bothering with lessons, I just need time to improve.

I would class myself as beginner. Although being able link etc and was hitting a few rails/boxes when i was at loon NH. Ive knocked my confidence a bit after catching an edge chasing someone lol!

Aint been for a year so i would imagine most of my time will be on my ass and trying to get my technique right!

Glad I'm not the only one then! Yes

Last time I went, I could occasionally link turns but had problems.

Hopefully we'll get to meet up early on and make a slow decent Laughing

Gina is my riding partner! stop pimping her out lol.. I need a beginner to ride with so it actually makes me look good lol..this is like my 4th boarding holiday and having intermediate lessons and some freestyle, i'd still only consider myself to be a beginner.

I would class myself as beginner as this will be my first time abroad. Haven't been riding for a month but gonna get a couple of sessions in once my board is back from being serviced. Managed to get a couple of days riding in Scotland last year despite awful conditions but the guy I was with kept falling and couldn't keep up with me so it was frustrating. Need to scope things out on the first day so happy to ride with you guys x

Sounds like a sensible idea, but don't think I'll manage any practice due to lack of transport.. That was a big perk of being in a relationship.. Rolling Eyes

Ah well, I wouldn't have been coming on the bash if I was!

6 months?! What went wrong?

I've never been on a chair lift (with a snowboard) so that will be my first challenge.. It'll take me an hour to get back up to a confident standard but I'm happy to stick around and help anyone with the basics on the first day though.

Gonna be awesome, I really can't wait!

They are much easier than the poma lifts, u basically have ur forward foot strapped in, u slide over to where the chair will pick u up from. Chair will come up behind u and u sit down. Iuse my rifht hand and grab the back of the chair to ensure i sit down. Thsn u just let ur board hang free with ur leg attached. Some have rests but make sure ur board is free well before the getoff point.

Getting off u point ur board forward and be clear where u r going when u get off. Put ur back foot on stomp pad and as board touches snow stand up steer the board as if u were strapped in normally. Sometimes u can hold someone for balance, useful for newbies, possibly their backpack.

Best thing is watch people geton and watch them get off but dont copy those that fall. Plus there will be a few beginners.

Excuse the typing mistakes, stupidtablet cant keep up
