Hope I'm posting in the right section
Going boarding next weekend so just got my board down from the loft and the damp has got to some breaks in the top sheet - new board methinks. Sad to see my Elan have to be retired
Can't afford to spend a fortune - -£150(ish) max - but just wanted to see if anyone had spotted anything while browsing t'web
Found a couple - Head Matrix for £150, Salomon Pulse for £155 - but just wanted to see if there were other suggestions |

Yep, had a few '??' looks off people who've never seen an Elan. It's proper late 90s/early 00s - dayglo orange base (the reason I bought it) and a crappy graphic of a women seemingly airing her sweaty armpits
Isn't she a beauty? |

Been looking on ebay at used and new. Lots of Ravens, which I see from the other thread on here, are pretty good VFM boards. Andy is on the case to see if they have something in my size....
Not sure about buying another used one off the bay; fancy something that hasn't been dinked in the lift queue. I know it'll come back ruined but I've never headed out with a fresh board
Seen a few boards on sale bout most are jib boards and too flex for what i want. Gonna keep looking and call my mate at K2/Ride tomorrow to see if can call in a favour... |

Sorry slighty off topic but whats so funny about Elan? They have been one the biggest innovators in snowboard tech for over 30 years, first true twin tip, introduced the industry standard 4 way pack insert pattern etc.
They manufacture the majority of boards out there so if you ride Capita, Arbor, Rome, Bataleon, Nitro, Elan, Lobster, Artec, Dinosaurs Will Die, Academy, Allian, Amplid (and rumour has it Burton) amongst others, it will probably be 'an Elan!'
Just felt the need to give your old board proper credit and defend my current deck, Elan Artec 3.3, 2007 Good Wood winner, a fantastic piece of kit.
Anyway back on topic you could try bargainboards or snowboards4u, the latter is where I got my Elan. Worth phoning up and seeing what they have and do a bit of haggling, you prob can get some decent discounts. |

@Weewebbo - would have had an Elan/Artec if I could have found one but I think sales have been so good (what with bumper snow this year) that it's just odds and sods left in the shops - TSA had a 163 Artec for £150 but that's too much length for me
My Elan is now officially retired now - got a K2 Raygun on the way through a mate in the trade. Seems to be the kind of stick that'll suit me.
Cheers all for the suggestions, advice and help - much appreciated
Now to book a holiday (after I've got the misses passport sorted in Peterboro tomorrow).... need a holiday after all the hassle of sorting one out!!! |
