Hey,
I've seen it mentioned in various places that SCUK have (temporarily?) stopped offering insurance, but can anyone recommend a decent alternative? |

Maverix
But no matter who you choose, read the policy carefully to check it will cover you for what you need. |

I was pretty gobsmacked when I paid my premium this year. Shame cause the cover was really good, but the prices have just hiked so much. Ive still got another 10 months to go though.
Who ever you choose, if there is the option to reduce all excesses to nil for the sake of say a tenner, then take it cause that makes a huge difference if you have a claim. Also make sure it covers helicopter ambulance.
Apologies cant offer experience on others as was with SCUK/Tag for years. |

You can still get insurance with tag, you just don't get the same level of cover that you use to, single item value is less and there's no SCUK discount, just checked my renewal around £40 more, all insurance has gone up. There are cheaper but I need the competition cover for my son that's proving hard to find and expensive.

So is snowboarding insurance in general gone through the roof?
Apparently so. We're still waiting on one final policy clarification to do with freestyle. |

I've always used Fogg. Good price and when I had to cancel a trip that had been booked independently of a travel agent they paid out in full.

Just browsed through Fogg's cover summary. I don't think it would work for many people on here. Only £700 of snow equipment cover and no mention of off piste or park cover.
My SCUK annual policy runs out next week so I looked at what TAG Direct are offering now and some of the cover is better than before. Like the snow equipment cover is now £2,500 (£500 for a single item) The cover still exists for park and off piste, although you to have three or more avalanche equipped companions or a guide.
The worst change was the reduction in the number of days riding covered from 31(I think) to 17, although they will still cover 31 days for a higher premium.
Reading through TAG's policy summary there have been several changes, some better, some worse, but as far I can see it still looks good. The cost was no different either. I'll wait and see what Dunx comes up with as an alternative, but IMO Tag still offer the best option that I have found to date.
PS No, I don't work for TAG |

| I'm heading out to Les Arcs on Sunday and I've been holding out for SCUK insurance. I'm cutting it fairly close, do you think you will have anything sorted by tomorrow? Another I've looked at is Insure&Go which do have good annual cover, you have to add park on as a premium but good winter item limits! Black is £1500 overall, 750 per single item. Gold is 1000 and 500 respectively. Only 24 days riding though. |

+1 for Maverix/Tag. My cover was £36 for a single trip which I didn't think was that bad considering the cover you get is still more comprehensive than most other companies offer. |

| We're waiting on an underwriter to confirm whether snowboard freestyle is included. It's taking a while, so I doubt it'll be done this week now. |
