What do you mean by enhance? Colour correction is pretty much the only way to enhance a picture. You can't make it better quality than it is

You can download software from the gopro website to correct and trim videos. It's actually quite good.

If you're running final cut X then there's loads of pre-defined looks built in that can be added to the footage. What sort of things are you after in terms of enhancements?

Are you after effects on the footage or doing jazzy things in terms of the editing and cutting side of things. You have some great and hugely powerful pieces of software but it will take a bit of time and patience to get your head round them.

Yeah there are loads of filters that will change your footage and give a different effect but its not what i'd call enhancements, they dont make it look any better most usually make it look...just different.

As nick and the guys have said. There is no real way to "improve" footage but rather you can artistically enhance footage using filters, colour correction, Vignettes, reduce camera shake etc etc. The list is endless and limited only by your imagination and tools available. You can most certainly come out with something artistically better and more impactful than what your stock footage was simply with the right cuts let alone the different filters you could use. With the software you have got, just dig in and see what you can come up with.

SImple piece of advice that is often overlooked when it comes to editing footage. Less is very often more. Don't try to have too much going on at once, you're video will thank you for it.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a company or individual who can put together a nice edit for you?

I'm not talking professional TV standard here, just something a little more artistic than I'd manage myself - after wasting days getting my head round the some editing software which would probably struggle to run anyway on my laptop.

Suppose it would help if they had some vague idea about snowsports so they could pick shots when decent stuff was going on.

What software have you tried? I am a Windows7 user so use Cyberlink Powerdirector .. really straight forward to use ... i.e. you import each movie file, watch it and cut it down to the bits you need, import the next and continue.

.. it's not hard to make an edit if you plan ahead to what you want to show .. i.e. I try to capture the journey, the people, the socialising and the boarding.

My rule of thumb is to edit it in chunks that fit a particular music track .. on most software you can see the music track graphically and see where it's fast / slow / loud etc .. match the footage to these ...

Create the segments one at a time i.e your titles as one file, then a section for each music track.

It's easier to edit a video and join together afterwards, that way you don't have too much open on the computer at anyone time.

Having someone else edit it - might cost a small fortune.

It's like that scene from Bladerunner. I never quite worked that out either.
