i will edit this and update it as i feel interested!
Avalanche on the road to Val Thorens, engulf and buries 2 cars, no inuries, but road above and below Les Menuires is closed, anyone caught out an not able to get to VT to sleep in the Sports Center tonight
Val d'Isere is on avalanche alert with all bars asked to close by 9pm and no night clubs allowed to open. Access roads to be closed overnight and 200km/h wind speed recorded high up. 5 out of 5 avalanche risk across the Savoie
Le Tania has a 20min powercut ealier this evening.
11.30 french time there was a loud bang, a bright flash and the village of bozell, St Bon, and le tania where plunged into darkness.
sounds like a power cable just came down.
Hundreds of British holidaymakers are tonight trapped in the ski resort of Zermatt in Switzerland following a massive avalanche.
A downpour of snow and ice has blocked all road and rail links into the Swiss village which has always been hugely popular with visitors from the UK.
Snow has covered the train track and roads leading to the popular ski resort, while poor weather means that helicopters are also unable to take off |

| It was getting bad last weekend too. We managed to get to Geneva airport with 25 mins to spare on NYE because an avalanche had closed the road between Bourg and Moutiers. |

I am heading to St Anton on Sunday. Just wanted to check a decent resort news page. I may be being a dumb arse, but my google attempts have not thrown much up. |

| Looking at trips to Tignes/Val D'sere or Val Thorens for 14th Jan, do you think normality will be restored by then? |
